I truly recommend this place where you can taste different meals made by a recognized person When you enter, you feel a welcoming atmosphere from the chef, the food has an exquisite flavor and meets the expectations that the client has. I recommend this place to spend time with family, friends or as a couple. What would be excellent is to have background music to improve the experience even more.

Fresh food and delightful chef

The restaurant ambience is humble but the food is not. It was Mexican food today so I got the shrimp quesadillas which came with fresh pico de Gallo, guacamole and green salsa. It was excellent. My husband got shrimp with tequila sauce and was very happy he had bread to sop up the delicious sauce. The food was fresh, you could see them chopping the vegetables. But perhaps the best part is the chef who was attentive and so kind. He obviously takes a lot of pride in his food. And the little things like a bowl of water to dip our hands in at the end of the meal and I mentioned I thought cucumber was in the water, he brought me their cucumber trip. Go here for great food, service and to support lovely people.

Best Food We’ve Had In Guatemala So Far!

We stopped in here for lunch and WOW! I feel like I can have pretty high standards for food, and I can confidently say this is the best we’ve had in Guatemala so far. We got tacos and parmesan cheese chicken breast, both were absolutely delicious. I honestly can’t decide which one was better. And the food didn’t only taste amazing, it looked amazing too! You can also see your food being made with delicious fresh ingredients, and the service is wonderful. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for lunch/dinner in pana!

Best food in Pana!

I'm a local and this is one of my favorite spots. The food is always cooked fresh and is top quality. Everything I've eaten here has been amazing. The chef himself is extremely nice and welcoming and very proud of his food. Which he should be! He gave us a welcome drink that was very delicious. We ordered tacos and sopas. They were both amazing. My family was visiting so I took them here and they said it was the best meal they had in Guatemala. The menu is always changing which is very fun. Sometimes he serves Mexican and other days it's Italian. Regardless, it's always a surprise. He does have a few dishes that stay mostly the same on the menu. Prices vary. It's affordable for locals and foreigners. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely meal at the restaurant last night. The chef was really welcoming and as it was a birthday he had decorated the table There was a choice of 7 dishes- fish meat and veg cooked to order . Our fish was cooked really well . Would recommend

Fabulous meal!!

We arrived to a warm welcome by Chef Israel and our experience began!!! He has a dinner board with 9 choices and each of the 4 of us chose and he served us a bottle of wine to enjoy while he and his wife prepared our meals in full sight!! What a fabulous presentation!! The food was exceptional and we all enjoyed a lovely evening!!

Wonderful intimate dining experience

We were greeted warmly by the chef upon arrival and when he had time visited with us to discuss food etc. . We were there on Mexican night and the food and presentation were fabulous. Service was excellent as was the wine and a shot of tequila. Really enjoyable evening.

An experience not just food

This place is far more than a restaurant-it’s an experience. The Chef and his wife make everything from scratch as ordered-a quick 20 mins in and our food was served. Not only is the food top notch and fresh-the Chef takes his time visiting with his customers. He cooks simply because he loves to cook and serve people. He’s a known chef in his own place because he loves the food he serves. He has a magical green drink that is his own recipe-get it or you’ll regret it!

Amazing food, meh atmosphere

The food was amazing! The meat was exquisitely cooked with much attention payed to appearance of the food. We were here on Guatemalan night and got the Churrasco chapin, pepian de pollo, churrasco de solomillo, and shish kebab. The shish kebab was AMAZING! Vegetables, meat, appearence, all! The one drawback was the atmosphere, but the food was amazing. The atmosphere was simply poor because the door was left wide open with loud cars and tuk tuks just a few feet away.

Absolutely delicious!

I ate at El Rincon del Chef last weekend and it was so delicious we returned three days later. The food was incredible, the service was attentive, and Chef Marroquin even walked outside to call a tuk tuk for us after our meal. These were without question the two best meals I’ve had in Panajachel.

Good International food, dissapointing atmosphere

Food was good, a modest but updated menu, international cuisine mainly. We had pasta, al dente and tasty, well presented in a generous portion. The restaurant is a few minutes tuktuk drive from Panajachel center. Interior and atmosphere is dissapointing. The staff not particularly friendly, the chef serving the clients and his assistant doing most of the cooking. The lighting is bright and clinical, and the door is continuously open to the noisy traffic and construction work outside, a door they refuse to close in fear of losing customers. All in all, although the food itself was good, I cannot see how the experience qualifies as the top in Panajachel by far.

Best dinner in Pana!

Best meal we’ve had in Guatemala by far! The chef was amazing and we had the best time getting to know him. He has so much passion for his craft (which is clear by how amazing the food is) but emphasized that his favorite part about what he does is meeting new people. His place feels like home. It’s so worth the trip! PS - get the camarones with the tequila sauce if it’s on the menu, 10/10

Hidden gem! 5-star food in a casual setting located in a quiet neighborhood.

Our group of ten enjoyed the most amazing food here! I had beef tenderloin that was the best meal in Guatemala and in top meals I’ve ever experienced. Chef Isreal who is the.told us he worked on cruise ships and worked his way up, then as an executive chef in a top restaurant. It was just him and his wife that prepared our meal and it was true perfection. He made a mango mousse specially for our group and it was so smooth and yummy. He has a cooking school at the restaurant for students. I’d go there every night if I could.

Best food in Panajachel!

I’m sitting here in the restaurant writing this review because that is how DELICIOUS it is! I see why this restaurant is rated #1. I love that his menu changes daily. My husband got the chicken stuffed with cheese and mushrooms and I got the fried jumbo shrimp - both were amazing! HIGHLY recommend visiting when coming to Pana! I will definitely back!
