Kakao conviently located in the hotels area in zone 10, has the best guatemalan menu with all the complicated spectacular mayann dishes from different zones. It has parkin area and it's located in a tipical palm hut with an interestic design

We were very impressed when we ate at Kacao. They have a nice menu with plenty of choices. The service was excellent, something we found all over Guatemala.

I really enjoyed trying Guatemalan food for the first time. I loved the decor and atmosphere in the restaurant. The service was great. The drinks were reasonably priced. I had a cross between a soup and a stew called pepian. It was delicious. It was served with a side of rice and two maize tamales wrapped in banana leaves. One... More

Impeccable service, delicious food and lovely ambience. We will come back when we visit Guatemala City again. They kept the white wine cold at the table.

Near empty on the night we attended. Staff very friendly and attentive. Excellent music with talented xylophone duet. Needed a noisy large group to fill the space. Noticed chefs from another restaurant eating there. Steak was very good. Wine by the glass had been open too long.

We stumbled upon this quirky restaurant close to our hotel in Zone 10, Guatemala City. The décor is lovely, with a wall covered with wax candles and the woven roof. The pine needles in the entrance smelled lovely. A typical Guatemalan group was playing music (a new take on the birdie song). The food is quite standard Guatemalan fare, but... More

We came to Kacao seeking traditional Guatemalan food. We were not disapointed! They were very friendly and concerned we had a good experience. Come hungry and let them choose you local fair instead of the "comfort" food they make available so there is something for everyone.

If you're like me and enjoy tasting the cuisine of the locals this is the place to go. The staff dresses in traditional Mayan garb and the food was good.

if you are in the Zona Viva and want a really good Guatemalan restaurant look no further, they have really good local music, service and food. the restaurant is elevated slightly(up a few stairs), with an outside area. their hot souses, bread are also of the best quality. i had the Pepian chicken, which comes with tamales and has stewed... Description
Traditional and gourmet Guatemalan food set on a large "palapa"style architecture. Upscale traditional decoration, local music and waiters with typical outfits; great for turists, out of town clients, families and local foodies. A wonderful Guatemalan experience right in the center of the Hotel zone.
