We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Kakao. An upscale restaurant serving gourmet traditional Guatemalan foods, the setting was a delightful surprise. We loved our meals, and appreciated our server, Elvis', prompt attentive care. We happened to arrive just 30 minutes before the live music began... 2 on the marimba, one on guitar, and another on drums. They played beautifully, with... More

Don't take the red dish with three different meat in it. If I knew that pork meant sausage I would never have taken it!

The buffet is perfect, fulfilled by a lot of the most significant food of Guatemala, full of flavor and traditional elements. the menu is also great, although it might take a wile to get your dish but only because it is freshly prepared.

Went here twice for their seafood ceviche. Very large bowl, great flavor. They could use a little more seafood and less shrimp, also ask for chips instead of the plain soda crackers they serve it with. Make sure to try their green hot sauce, it has a good kick! They had nice local type music on Friday and Saturday night.

This place gave a very good selection of Guatemalan cuisine. Although a bit on the higher end, dishes felt and tasted homemade. Yummy! Make sure to leave room for dessert!

We arrived late to a hotel on the same block, and most of the restaurants in the vicinity were already closed. This restaurant is open until 11pm on weekdays. The interior looked inviting and the menu was appealing. The food quality however, was not good and the prices were too high for the mediocre food this restaurant serves. The guacamole... More

We selected this restaurant based on Trip Advisor reviews and it was outstanding. One of the best dinners we had while visiting Guatemala. We all had different dishes and none of us were disappointed - even the Rooster Breast! Nice selection of wine. It was a little noisy, as we were seated next to large group.

One of my favorites with so many traditional examples of Guatemala foods... varieties of tamales, unique soups and dishes. All are things you usually find in the home. We are lucky to have such a wonderful place with character and charm.

If you are interested in Guatemala cuisine, this is the place. Good selection of dishes, wine and beer.

Traditional and gourmet Guatemalan food set on a large "palapa"style architecture. Upscale traditional decoration, local music and waiters with typical outfits; great for turists, out of town clients, families and local foodies. A wonderful Guatemalan experience right in the center of the Hotel zone.
