I had not come back for a while and did recently. It was a pleasent surprise finding that Mario's is still a very good option for good Spanish cuisine.

The restaurant was pretty nice decorated but did not had background spanish music so it did not give you the feelin of an spanish restaurant, the service was great although it was empty. I had a lechon asado is a young pork loin that tasted good but too raw for my taste and it had some bones which is not... More

From outside it was interesting, when we entered it was empty ( not good sign) but it was Tuesday night... The menu shows well that is expensive for the prices but we decided to try... Bad choice! I live in Spain so I know how is Spanish food... The calamared were really bad, not hot and not worth, the meat... More

We had pasta with seafood and sea bass with garlic and mixed vegetables. Both were very good, as was the accompanying sangria. Service was excellent.

I went here for dinner on my own. It was my second try with Mario's, and I was disappointed both time. The meal was fine, and the service as good, but overall it wasn't worth the price. Altuna prepares better cuisine and has better service. You can also get paella for one at Altuna. If you're in the Zona Viva,... More

Traditional Spanish restaurant with a good menu with main attractions paella, seafood or steak. I had mixed seafood dish which was very good. Friendly staff and good service.

I have been a regular of Marios for a very long time, I reckon that restuarants in Spain are superior, however, given the limitations to get the right ingredients here, Marios is very decent when compared with top Spanish restaurants. Having said that, I recommend Marios seafood Paella, you will not get a better paella in Guatemala, as good as... More

The restaurant was recommended by a gentleman that has been living in Gutate for the last 15 years. He said it is an excellent fish restaurant. And he was right. I had a "robalo" with garlic, olive oil, vinegar and chili (one of their specialities) and it was quite good. The service was very friendly and the beer was cold... More

We really enjoyed De Mario. We went with a group of 6 people. We had paella, fish, 16oz steak and deditos tocino. Everyone was very happy with their meals. Presentation, preparation and flavor....excellent. Everything freshly prepared by the owner and chef. Excellent personal attention and service. Well done all around!!!!!
