Wonderful!

My husband and I ate several days at the Breezeway Restaurant and Pool Bar, both for lunch and dinner. The pasta was amazing - ragu was especially tasty and filling! For lunch, we had a variety of salads (cobb was my favorite), as well as...super fresh shrimp ceviche and the most amazing home made tortillas. The service is outstanding and we had our best meals of our trip here!More

Wonderful!

This was a wonderful place to eat. We had gumbo and scallops. Great food, great atmosphere, superb service. Everyone was absolutely lovely!

Best Food in Placencia

We just left a week long stay in Placencia. During this time, we discovered the Mariposa! We ate at The Breezeway restaurant 3x and it was by far the best food in Placencia. The beach is one of the nicest in the area. Plus, the...pool and comfy lounge chairs were perfect for a relaxing day at the beach. The hosts Sharon and Bruce are so welcoming. They have done an amazing job with the property and the restaurant. We were so grateful to discover that it is open to the public and spent a lot of time here. Next time we come to Placencia, we will definitely stay at the Mariposa. Thank you!!!More

Delicious, fresh and succulent meals at The Breezeway

I enjoyed the food at the Breezeway Restaurant when I stayed at Mariposa Beach Resort last month. I highly recommend that you try the Mariposa burger. I also enjoyed the breakfast and lunch. Everything from the menu is good.

Our first choice

We ate a couple of meals in town and soon realized what we had right at our own beach hotel. A restaurant with great food right at the beach and pool, who could want more? I had a fish dinner, and Christmas ham dinner, and...a fish wrap sandwich (which was huge and could feed two) for lunch one day. They also have salads and sandwiches and burgers ... something for everyone. The cocktails are great too. Our welcome drink was a Placencia Sunset, and my favorite drink of the whole trip was their Pink Cucumber. The bartender Ryan gave us some great advice about San Ignacio, our next destination. You should visit here for the seaside dining, great food and drink, and friendly people.More

Delicious and fresh!

Although this restaurant is attached to a hotel, it’s really good. Mariposa Beach, bar, and restaurant are open to the public. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The portions are good, they have vegetarian options, house made pasta (highly recommended!), good salads, wraps, fresh fish,...and daily specials. The food is better than the fancy resort down the street and much better priced. The service is very attentive (with smiles) without being annoying. You can eat under the palapa or outside by the beach.More

Great view

Great food

A lot of the food in Placencia is just ok. But the Mariposa is first rste. It has a full menu. We generally try to eat just the local dishes. We made an exception for this place and we are so glad we did. Their...chef is Belezean but was trained in Italy. The pasta is homemade and the pasta with ragu sauce is the best I have ever had. My husband's pork tenderloin with bacon was to die for. The service is great too. We highly recommend them.More

Lunch was Geat

While we were staying in the village at another hotel, we did cart out to the Mariposa to enjoy lunch and their pool and beach.

Lovely dinner
