Enjoyed sitting up in the tree on a hot afternoon. Good coffee and tea and setting was wonderful, overlooking downtown.

We ordered the tea. It is unsweetened, so be sure to use their sugar if you like that. We got 2 larges for $5 USD, which seems reasonable.

If you want to enjoy a cup of quality coffee, this is a very good place. You do have to walk up stairs to get there - ergo "Above" Grounds Coffee. They also sell fair trade Guatemalan coffee but at $12.50 a pound U. S. - that's a bit pricey to lug all the way back to the States.

Great coffee and breakfast! I visited this place a few times while in Placencia. It is near the end of the peninsula ( AKA the Point) and docks. If you love coffee like I do, then you have to try it!

With a nice balcony and great coffee, it was a nice way for us to start most of our mornings. Also tasty baked goods, fresh bagels and friendly staff and owner.

During Lobster Fest, in a thunder storm, we stepped in to get coffee. Not only did we get fabulous iced coffees, we got the low down on how to enjoy Lobster fest

Very popular hangout place for morning munchies, coffee, internet and discussions. A decent range of drink options, both hot and cold. Breads and muffins locally made. Free WiFi.

Description
Above Grounds Coffee has established a direct connection with small independent farmers in Guatemala. Hand-picked, processed & roasted by small family operations. Their 100% mountain grown and 100% Arabica coffee beans are shade grown, hand-picked and then processed to organic standards. All fields meet elevation requirements for Strictly Hard Bean (SHB) grade and some meet the Fancy (F) grade. These two top grades (Fancy and SHB) total less than 2.5% off all coffee produced globally!
