We're certainly far from perfect, but we do try our best to create a winning meal experience for every single customer, whether they are hotel guests, Belizean neighbors or travelers staying at other hotels. Try pairing small plates with wines, choose from our creative main courses, or just enjoy some comfort food for breakfast or lunch. It's fun for us to meet new people and, well, just make them happy! Our casual beach bistro focuses on unique sauces and contemporary, tropical-themed flavor combinations while maintaining comfortable portions. Lots of fish and seafood. Bar service includes a 270-bottle wine list, local beer, rum drinks, and house specials. The outdoor atmosphere is casual so

We had two dinners and some pastries to go from MB. Our second dinner there was their Thanksgiving dinner, which was a great tropical take on what is not usually my favorite meal. The setting is wonderful, too, as you are right on the beach....Kids could run around while we enjoyed our amazing cocktails or wine. Staff is super friendly and personable. Thank you Ellen for a great oasis!More

My husband and I took a much needed date day away from the four walls of our home and drove to Placencia and stopped in Maya Beach for lunch. The original restaurant that initially caught our attention was quickly dismissed due to unsatisfactory COVID safety...standards. We turned our car around and went a little ways back to the bistro sign. The Maya Beach Hotel Bistro was recommended by some friends a few years ago but we just hadn’t gotten around to going. When we walked up, immediately we noticed all the safety measures they have in place. Masks, social distancing, hand sanitizer- the place was clean and our waiter was awesome, my husband ordered the chorizo pepperoni pizza and I had the fish sandwich with watermelon salad. Ok first thing, my husband declared this was the best pizza he had eaten since we’ve lived in Belize. It was realllyy good. But nothing can top that watermelon salad. Oh my goodness so much flavor. I remembered to write this review while I was on Pinterest searching for a copycat recipe. We will be going back to the bistro. Soon. The owner came out, chatted a bit, very friendly. This is a new favorite place.More

The cacao spice rubbed pork chop was the BEST meal I’ve ever had!! I had this 3 times while I was in Belize, that’s how good this restaurant is.

We ate here two nights while in Placencia. The food selection was great as was the wine selection. The restaurant is right on the beach overlooking a dock with a few chairs. I had the coconut crusted fish and my husband had the pasta with...shrimp. It was so good. The night before we went with some friends who raved about their dinner. The ribs with pasta as an app, the sassy shrimp dish, gnocchi app was great but again, my husband raved about the pork chop. Great place for a nice dinner.More

Wife and I and our 6 year old daughter went there for dinner three nights ago. Frankly, the food at our nearby hotel was great, but we had eaten pretty much everything on the menu, so it was time for a change of venue. Anyway,...we had a great time. Easy to find, parking right in front, didn't have to wait for a table (we did have reservations), service was great, and food was wonderful. If I had to nitpick about anything, it was our daughter's meal -- she ordered macaroni and cheese, and we're pretty sure it was something out of a box.More

Delish meal on the beach. Open air. The recipe is in Belizean money so it would be half price American.

The Maya Beach hotel and Bistro were highly recommended by Fodor and TA. It far exceeded the recommendation. Accommodations terrific. We stayed in lower Flip Flop. Spacious and comfortable. Walked out of the door and we were on the beach. Service great food superb found...Tracy charming and helpful in so many ways. The owner was terrific and involved. Rosey in restaurant brightened up our mornings. The total staff could not be beat. Minor complaint was choice of living room furniture not comfortable. Otherwise all perfect. Looking forward to next visit. Have recommended to children and grandchildren.More
