Wendy's is nothing like the chain by that name. It is reasonably priced, located centrally in the small town of Placencia, well attended (often a sign the food and service will be good). Their food is always fresh the few dinners i have had there this November (2023). They will happily modify their menu to what you want or don't want, and prepare take-outs. In contrast with a few of the more outwardly attractive restaurants, Wendy's is simple on the outside but with indoor or outdoor seating. This makes it more easily accessible than other restaurants where one has to climb stairs. A good choice for all your meals in my opinion.

First time in Belize, second day in Palencia - me & the missus visited Wendy’s after spending a few hours exploring Palencia on foot. We chose Wendy’s following a strong referral from our airport driver. He told us that we could expect to sample representative local cuisine prepared to a high standard.
He was right - Creole seafood! Local lobster was off the menu for seasonal reasons, so we ordered Creole shrimp, house salad and vegan stuffed cabbage (much like a brace of big Dolma).
The place was surprisingly quiet, most likely because of the time & day of our visit (4.00pm on the Sunday before Independence Day).
Portions were generous, the food was well presented, and the service was excellent. You could taste the individual ingredients in the Creole shrimp base - very fresh! Our server was attentive, making sure we were comfortable at all times and explaining the menu well.

Great portions, excellent service - local menu worth coming back for. We first tried Wendy's as our first choice in Placencia but it was closed on Wednesday. We came back later in the week and were not disappointed. Portions were generous, and they served a clove-spiced plum jam that I will try to make at home. Fry Jacks were hot, crispy on the outside, hot and soft inside. The bacon was hot and crispy (as ordered). Wished we had a few more days to go back for dinner.

Expectations were high, considering the full patio and wait, but the reality was one of rude servers who were totally disinterested in their patrons' experience.
From the time of being seated to the finally receiving our food, 90minutes had passed. Each time we politely inquired about our order, we were met with an eye-roll or some platitude about, "others in front of us". Ironic, considering that tables who arrived well after us received their food before us.
Don't waste your time - there are other options ready to provide an authentic experience.

We loved it so much the first time we went again. Fabulous location and beautiful decor. Food and drinks were absolutely delicious and fresh and the staff were incredibly warm and helpful. My husband loves the fried Snapper and I love the Shrimp Creole. Highly recommend!

This restaurant in located in Placencia Village, right on a curve, almost near the end of the main road. There is ample parking and a fair amount of covered outside seating. Very friendly staff and a good bartender who made delicious Margherita's on the rocks. I couldn't decide between the baked or grilled lobster, so I asked which was best. My waitress immediately responded grilled. This was an excellent recommendation. The lobster was perfectly cooked and the meal came with coconut rice and a tossed salad. And don't forget the melted butter. I was too full for desert, so I took a house cheesecake to go. It was good but nothing spectacular.

This was absolutely one of the most delightful restaurant experiences of our trip to Placencia. The restaurant is beautifully setup and decorated and the furniture is of course the most lovely mahogany. My husband and I had been dreaming of the lobster fajitas and decided to try that and we ordered a side of stewed beans on the side. The fajitas were buttery and delicious and came with one massive flour torilla that was fun to tear up and create a vessel to get all of the delicious goodness in our mouths. I personally love the sensory experience of eating with my hands now and then! We ordered lobster ceviche to take with us to our airbnb to snack on later and the portion was massive. Our server, Wilson, had such a kind and gentle soul, and was very efficient and attentive. I hope he is still there when we return but if he isn't, hopefully he will be a millionaire lying on a beach somewhere. He surely deserves that. Placencia has some of the nicest people you will meet.

Dinner at Wendy's is a must if you're in Placencia! I should mention that a Belizean from the Cayo District recommended Wendy's to us, so if it's good enough for locals, we're game! The adults were all very pleased with our meals. The ambiance is cozy as well...we sat outside enjoying a nice breeze on the porch. With that said, it was really the service that sets this place apart! The staff are so kind and welcoming. My 4 year old requested a grilled cheese which IS NOT on the menu. I was explaining this to him, but the staff overheard his request, and they were kind enough to make him the cheesiest yummiest grilled cheese! This seemingly small gesture goes a long way, especially to families traveling with young picky children. I absolutely recommend Wendy's!

Another disappointing food experience except for the salsa/guacamole and corn fritters which were the highlight.
Everything else lack of seasoning.
My son ordered the shrimp chow mein ~ tasteless
Wife ordered the curry vegetables with rice. Gave her a stomachache. I wish they could have told us that they use milk instead of coconut milk.
I ordered the special snapper blackened dinner ~ it was two little snappers - overcooked. I had the rice and beans with it and it was also dry. Everything was just tasteless

We stopped at Wendy’s for breakfast and had a wonderful meal! I had the Spanish Breakfast With Meat and enjoyed it very much!
The meal included two eggs (prepared however you want them) covered with salsa. Wow, the salsa really complimented the eggs!
It also included refried beans. Since I love Mexican food, I have eaten a lot of refried beans but these were special! The texture was very smooth and it was all I could do to finish one mouthful before I started to shovel another in! If I had to guess, I would say the beans probably spent some time in a food processor which made them so smooth and delicious!
Finally, the meal included fry jacks. These are puffy, doughy (did I say delicious) Belizian breads. I had never eaten one before and I also loved them.
Needless to say, I ate too much!
The service was also excellent!
I do not think you can go wrong eating at Wendy’s!

Good food! Was definitely the standout, however what wasn’t good was the service, it took over an hour to get the food and the waiter barely checked on us. And look - I get it restaurants have their slow days I used to work in one. But what isn’t okay is when the server doesn’t pay any attention to their tables. So if you’re going to dine here, be ready to accept that the food service and service in general may be slow.

We are here for the 2022 Lobster Festival and this was one of the restaurants recommended to us when we asked at a local grocery store. We went last night and ordered the grill lobster. Suberb! Sweet and tasty, with a wonderful side of grilled veggies and coconut rice. We finished off with the caramel flan which was ok. The service was great, the ambience was great. We decided to come back today for lunch. Hubby ordered the burger and fries which he pronounced as "really good" and I had the stewed chicken with rice and stewed beans. Again, a fantastic meal with great service. We will probably go back before our holiday is done because there are other items on their menu that we want to try out and the food is that good so far.

Neither of us had much knowledge of Creole cooking and were inclined to experience it.
Wendy's invitingly sits at the terminus of downtown Placencia.
The setting has a Spanish feel, is spacious with both in and outdoor seating and well appointed.
The staff were friendly and responsive.
We shared a Creole Shrimp dish that was very tasty.

Fine service and good food, especially excellent bread pudding for dessert. Seafood fajitas were a bit light on the seafood; on another occasion, fries were served lukewarm. But this popular place has a convenient location and nice outdoor seating. Definitely worth a visit.
