I have been in San Ignacio for five days and I have eaten here 4 times. It opens early, so three were for breakfast and a lot of the reviews mention lunch and dinner which was amazing but so is breakfast! We have ordered all of the favorites, and they are extremely accommodating to small changes to the order-it even says so on the menu. The portions are large and tasty, the staff is happy to see you, and the ambiance is very relaxing. I will miss this place. Oh and you can get a soft boiled egg!

Ko-Ox Han nah offers a pretty large and varied menu that should please most tastes. The dining room is open air. If you are wondering why they have clear plastic bags filled with water hanging in the window openings, they are to keep the flies away. Don’t ask how this works but we indeed only encountered a single fly during a late lunch. The trick does not work for mosquitos hiding under tables though as we got stung multiple times in the legs. We had the ceviche as a starter and it was very good. I then had the fried whole snapper with coconut rice. After rice and beans everywhere else a nice change. The snapper was slightly over-fried so a bit too dry but the rice was nice and fluffy. My better half had the vegetarian egg plant also with rice and to me that was a bit bland. Well, there is always Mary Sharps hot sauce on the table! You may be better of with the saucy meat/shrimp options. Service was friendly and efficient. Table spacing is a bit dense in this town favorite so don’t expect to much privacy or elbow room. Nevertheless probably one of the better choices in a town with rather basic restaurants.

Great authentic Belizean cuisine. We really enjoyed our dinner here. My boyfriend got the pork chop (it was enormous) and I got the spicy eggplant and both were delicious and satisfied. Found it affordable as well. Definitely recommend. They also have breakfast and lunch options.

We had a group of seven to have dinner in San Ignacio and saw the line outside Ko-Ox Han Nah. They had an extensive menu so we put in our name. They then asked us what we wanted to eat so we could pre-order and not have to wait once we were seated. We had some pretty diverse food interests in our group (three vegetarians, one vegan and three carnivores) and they had great food for all of us. The drinks were also good and pretty big. For the quantity of food and the quality, the prices were very good. I am sorry we were not spending more time in San Ignacio or we would have gone back.

We went back for a second dinner because we enjoyed the first so much. We were surprised that the wait staff recognized us but we also observed that they recognized other repeat customers. They made some outstanding recommendations including trying the chaya which we highly recommend.

We ate here for breakfast two days in a row. We are vegan and were able to customize a few options easily. The potions are generous and delicious, the service kind and helpful. The restaurant also has Belizian treats to go, like homemade coconut candy. The art on the walls is local and for sale.

Several locals suggested we eat here, and I'm glad we did. A delicious selection of Belizean favorites. Good-size portions spiced just right. You've got to have a large glass of their fresh squeezed watermelon juice! And ask why they have clear plastic bags of water hanging at the front windows...an interesting and unexpected reason.

This is NOT to be missed. The pork tacos we so juicy and well seasoned! I ordered a mango daiquiri as soon as I found out they make the mango purée on site and it was DELICIOUS! I also asked for a special rice dish (coconut rice, mango & cilantro) and they brought all of that to my table just for me! My husband had the chicken, rice and beans and ate every bite. For dessert we managed to scarf down the freshly made lemon meringue pie. The food was fresh, locally sourced, and not too salty. It looks like a little hole of a restaurant, but they deliver HUGE flavors for the food!!!

I was looking for locally produced food in San Ignacio and since Guava limb was closed on mondays they recommended this place to me in the front desk of my hotel. I ordered the lamb chops which were flavorful but the meat was hard and they were not well cleaned, full of fascia and ligaments and so on, I also ordered the hot chocolate and since they produce artisanal chocolate near by, I thought that’s what it was. I was very disappointed to find out that it was actually Hershey’s cocoa.
On the other hand, Later on I ordered a soursop juice and that was very delicious. Moreover, the service was great, the waitress were kind and friendly and I liked the decorations on the walls.
I wouldn’t recommend at all if your looking for something authentic.

My wife and I ate here multiple times during our visit to San Ignacio and 'Hannah's' (as the locals call it) never failed to impress. The portions are generous and the menu is extensive. I had the quesadilla with beef and it was huge, and the addition of capers really added a nice counter-point to the other ingredients. The lamb's liver was delicious (when do you ever see lamb's liver on a menu??) and cooked perfectly. I had it with coconut rice, and my wife had chaya rice, which was cooked with some local greens reminiscent of spinach. We ate there for breakfast a few times, and I had the fruit and house made yogurt, which came with a huge bowl of local fruit (watermelon, banana, papaya, pineapple and canteloupe) and locally made granola (you can also ask for a side of their local honey). My wife had the Belizian breakfast, which came with fry jacks (think savory beignets,) eggs, beans, and house made sausage etc. They have some secret menu items that we found on Facebook, like cow foot soup (I know, it sounds weird, but it was delicious!) I mostly drank the local beer, Belikin (I prefer the stout,) but my wife tried their juices. They have one made of soursop, and a Belizian woman at the next table was drinking hers with condensed milk in it. We asked to try some with the condensed milk, and it was next level. Our servers were really friendly and came by to top up my coffee, which was really nice. Next time we come to San Ignacio, we will be sure to eat here again!

Anytime you go to Hannas can be hard to get a table just walking in, is the favorite for many travelers, many tour guides and locals... It's affordable, quick, meals are big specially the quesadillas ... A huge and eclectic menu.
Totally a place to visit while you are in San Ignacio

Great location in the middle of everything, the walls are lined with local art and wares - all for sale. I got the curry and it had massive chunks of vegetables and corn on the cob rounds right in the curry. There was probably more rice than anything else, with little to no curry. My wife had a decent soup but I don’t know if I’d go back again.

This is a good restaurant, in the heart of San Ignacio, with a friendly, laid back vibe. The menu is somewhat simple (probably too many “American” food items), but their local dishes are fantastic. Check it out!

I agree with the reviews that suggest maybe the guides are the ones that push this restaurant. The restaurant has some good options but the broad menu seemed to have its downside for us as the burgers (including the lamb burger) were mediocre. My wife said the pork tacos were good. We felt the place was designed for American tourists. There are upsides and downsides to that.

As often is the case in Belizean restaurants the portions are generous. I had lamb curry that was very tasty and soursop juice (because I like it). Everyone else seemed to enjoy their dinners as well although one person found their eggplant dish to be very spicy. Not sure what their spice tolerance is but thought I would mention it.
