Ivy is a magical woman who cooks even more magical food. I spent 2 weeks in San Ignacio and by far the best food in the city!

We came for dinner on our last night in San Ignacio. We missed the door on our first trip by. It's a bit sneaky, taking you upstairs to a very small space. We sat overlooking the street below. The service was prompt. The Ginger Lemon...drinks were very good (both virgin and alcoholic options). The food was absolutely amazing. Full of flavor. You really felt like you were in someone's kitchen.More

My mother and I had the pleasure of eating at Authentic Flavors today, and I will be eating there again before I leave in a couple of days. The service was quick, Jose was very kind and helpful, and the food was amazing. We both...ordered the Darasa with chicken stew, and we were blown away by the flavor. Highly recommendMore

Living in San Ignacio one gets to know the best local food. You cant beat going to Authentic Flavor owned and run by Miss Ivy. Just top quality food served fresh and made to order. Great location too..on a second floor but open air and...relaxing atmosphere with interesting Garifuna decorations and of course traditional healthy fresh Garifuna food. Always a great meal!More

My husband and I went to this place cause it had good reviews. We sat almost right away and the waitress took our orders. But the food arrived after 2.5 hours. There were parties that arrived after us and they were eating before us. Anyhow,...when the food arrived, my fish tacos tasted like rotten fish and I couldn’t eat it. My husband decided to swap with me even if he agreed that it wasn’t good and at night he had a major stomachache. Stay away!More

Our visit was unplanned, we were just randomly seraching for a decent place where to taste anauthentic Belizean flavors and guess what? We founded it. Owners are very nice, food is very good and atmosphere awe-inspiring.

We have wanted to try this place for sometime and last night did not disappoint! The food was delicious and the ambience and server were terrific. We live in Belize so we will be back!

As others have said, the 2nd story is indeed a bit of an oasis away from the noise of the street. The Indian themed fabric swags across the balcony helps to create a cool and relatively breezy atmosphere . Not everything on the menu was...available , including the daily special. I ordered one of the authentic specials - chimote - a black chicken soup served with coconut rice . Service was no where near as slow as the other reviews said , but I think that just goes with the territory . Soup was Luke warm but since it a hot day, I could not complain , but it was very flavorful. I should probably not have ordered soup on a hot day, but I wanted to taste one of the authentic dishes . They did not have much change, so I had to pay with a mix of currencies , and then barely had enough left to tip unfortunately , as I was hoping to get change from a larger bill to tip, so make sure you take smaller bills with you to pay.More
