The lizard is a unique bar and hosts an amazing view and a spot for locals to hang out. We only stayed for happy hour due to the fact the drinks are expensive and honestly the male bar tender was a douche. He argued with...More

Hi James, We would be interested to know exactly what the problem was. Our single male bartender receives very high compliments from our guests. Could you please provide us with details so that we can look into this. We take these issues very seriously. Feel...More

Located at the northern point of the southern section of Caye Caulker, the Lazy Lizard is at the point where a huge hurricane (not sure exactly when or what name) cut the island in two. This bar offers a place to chill out with a...More

First time to Belize and Caye Caulker, we hung out at the Lazy Lizard every single day! The drinks were awesome but besides fries they didn't have any vegan options. There were a few vegetarian options though. They have tables in the water so you...More

We had a very enjoyable drink here overlooking the split. Good 2 for 1 offers during happy hour on cocktails and mixed spirits. $6 for a beer seemed pretty steep.

A 45 minute boat ride from Belize City, Belize. A tiny island of Calken[sp?] a quiet fishing island with a few restaurants and bars on one end. The lazy Lizzard had a bar on the dock and a small open air restaurant up stairs. Service...More

I have always loved this place. It's still the spot on the island to go to hang out. It has become very expensive and just lost that island unique feel. I would probably chose somewhere else next timeMore

Tom A, Guest Relations Manager at Lazy Lizard, responded to this review

Hi llb1212, Thanks for your review. I would hardly say "very expensive" to describe our prices. The Lazy Lizard is on a island. Everything needs to be brought from the mainland. The cost of doing business here is reflected in our pricing. We love our...More

This is not a local owner. Flys are everywhere at the bar. No fans to keep them away. Expensive food and drinks.

Tom A, Guest Relations Manager at Lazy Lizard, responded to this review

Hi nopots, Thanks for your review. Our bar is outdoors right on the water. There are going to be flies. Hope you enjoyed the beautiful view :)

We ate at Lazy Lizard once during our trip, but we spent time there each afternoon. The food was very good, but expensive for our budget. Located right on the split, good views, good access to swimming in the sea. Very loud music.

When we were there in Feb. there was too much construction to enjoy. We're returning this summer but are concerned about all the debris in the water with kids. Do you have plans to clear the debris out of the water so it's safer to swim?
