Caye Caulker is a very small place and food can be expensive because everything needs to be brought in from the mainland. Auntie's Takeaway is a basic and affordable place serving mostly stir fries. I didn't get a tummy upset although some of my friends got nasty food poisoning in more upmarket, mainland based restaurants. Good food, good value for... More

Auntie's/Chan's Take- Out- My absolute #1 favorite budget food spot was a simple take-out across from Chan's grocery store on one of the back streets. It's the island's best budget food option and it has a few covered picnic tables, too, which puts it a notch above the street stands in terms of luxury. We ate there probably 4 days... More

If you are looking for a filling breakfast, lunch or dinner, with typical Belizean cooking, which is a type of stewed meat, rice n beans, and potato salad or cole slaw, and want to pay around $5 U.S. then this is the place for you. I stopped here in the middle of the afternoon and the owner "Auntie" was smiling... More

We were on the island for 4 days, we went here the first night. The food was decent but ended up upsetting both of our stomachs, after talking to a couple the next day they had the same experience

This is by far the best value for your buck on the island! It is a favorite among the locals, so you know it is the place to go! The name has been changed to Auntie's take out and the exterior has had a nice facelift. There are tables to sit in with an overhead covering. Big serving portions with... More

In a hurry? Chans might not be the place. Good inexpensive food? You found the place. Relax and have a Belizian beer while you wait.

The food here is more expensive than Chinese food take out I've eaten closer to the beach and it is not near as tasty. The chicken burger was a super thin and overlooked slice of chicken on a bun with lettuce and tomato. The French fries were fresh and tasty, however I won't be returning here as I can get... More

Great stop for lunch! Friend conch is delicious. Generous portions. Awesome banana milk shake. Best deal is town. Also liked the fish burger which is really a fish fillet. Specials are $12 Belize or $6 US. Fish Burger just $7 Belize or $3.50 US. They also have chicken, burgers, and asian rice and noodles. Very popular spot.

I could have eaten here every day. Great orange drink ("jiuce") and I loved the shrimp fried rice. We also loved the fried conch with fries. Yum!! One of the best hand painted signs on the island... Local flavor made with care. Really nice service. Interesting people watching! Perfect for lunch.
