We enjoyed our Christmas day lunch. The rooftop restaurant is unique on Ambergris Caye. At 12:30 pm through the duration of our meal there was only one other table seated (this may be because it is one of the most expensive restaurants on the island). We had ceviche at every restaurant we went to during our week stay on Ambergris Caye but our group deemed this the best!

Our kind receptionist at Belizean Shores recommended we go at sunset. This was at 5:30 and early for dinner but I am so glad we did! The sunset view was the best on island! We were able to see the ocean and lagoon side. The restaurant wasn't crowded at this time because it was early. We celebrated our birthdays (3) at this restaurant and the guitar player sang happy birthday while our desserts were brought out with sparklers! It was so fun. The food was amazing and we actually went back for New Years because it was so good! This is a must in San Pedro!

Good food, slow service. We ordered the ceviche as an appetizer and it did not arrive before the meal or even with it so we cancelled it. My ribs were so so, don’t recommend them. My sisters seafood pasta was wonderful. It’s a bit pricey and the prices are listed in American dollars. We ate the Tuesday and would have preferred to try something different but there aren’t a lot of options as many places seem to be closed Monday and Tuesday. This time we ordered the ceviche which was excellent but didn’t order the entrees until it arrived. We got the petit filets which were cooked perfectly. The view is nice. The receptionist was very helpful and attentive, but the kitchen is slow.

Don’t waste your time. Came here in 2016 swore I would never go back. My friends wanted to go so obliged. I don’t write reviews but you need to know. Order Lobster Bisque small portion for price. Ordered coconut shrimp more like popcorn shrimp and only 8 of them. Ahi tuna just had no taste. Ordered a beer it was hot so I asked waiter to please put some on ice for my next ones to be cold. Next two beers were same temperature. We asked a couple of things about the menu he couldn’t answer. I know it sounds like I am complainer but I usually don’t I just won’t go back. Conclusion beware of the tourist trap of the view it’s ok and the food is average at superior prices and they serve hot beer with a waitstaff you wouldn’t expect at a high end restaurant.

We ate at Rain for our last dinner in Belize and had been looking forward to this dinner throughout our whole trip. We asked for hot sauce 3 times over a span of 30+ minutes & for water refills that never came during our dinner. The waiter continued to walk by us and completely ignored us. Such a disappointing meal as our last in San Pedro - we would certainly not recommend it if you would like your waiter to pay attention to you. We are completely understanding of the difficult times during Covid with understaffing, but this was beyond disappointing service.

I did a lot of research prior to the trip of things to do and where to go. Rain came up several times. We made a reservation for Friday night at 6:00pm so that we could enjoy the sun setting on the mainland while we were enjoying the meal. We were seated immediately upon arrival and the view was spectacular. The server was quick to take a drink order and bring us a cocktail while we looked over the menu. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection on the menu. In a previous life I was a Chef/GM of a high end restaurant so I can be quite critical. Anyway I was impressed by the menu, wine list and cocktail list for a somewhat remote destination in Central America. The service was good and the meal was fantastic. We were both very impressed with our experience and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a nice night out on the island.

We ate here for what we hoped to be an elevated dining experience as we were visiting Ambergris Caye for our anniversary. We found, throughout Belize, that hospitality is warm and attentive and incredibly friendly. Unfortunately, at Rain it fell a bit short. Once we received our food we were left without any service for the remainder of our meal. We did not have a chance to order additional drinks or dessert. Our finished plates sat on the edge of our table for at least 20 minutes until we were finally able to ask our server for the bill when he cleared the table. The food was fine, but I think that when visiting we preferred the more authentic and flavorful experiences of other restaurants to this. A beautiful view and setting, however.

The rooftop location is cool, but the food and drinks were not worth the price. This was by far the most expensive meal we had in San Pedro and the food was mediocre at best. This is food you would get at a lower-end chain restaurant in the states. Would not recommend this as there are far better places to eat in San Pedro, several of which are right down the street. My husband tried to talk to a waiter about the bad ahi tuna he and my son received, but no one seemed concerned that we were not happy. Spend your money elsewhere.

The prices in the menu definitely reflect the view (though the view wasn't quite what it was cracked up to be). Our favorite item ordered was the Conch Chowder (they were out of all lobster) but the fish dishes, while good, just did not command the price based on other upscale restaurants we visited. I will call out that our waiter was fantastic, polite, and the service itself was excellent, though I wish we'd known what they were out of on the menu before perusing and getting excited. If it's windy--definitely ask to sit in the bar area (score is not reflective of wind, an establishment can't control that). Might return for just sunset drinks and apps on another visit, and hope for less wind.

I visited Rain with my boyfriend for my 36th birthday. We traveled 25 minutes from our resort. We were seated immediately and hopeful for a great dinner. Ordered the conch fritters for an appetizer. Played nicely and average taste. I order the beef tenderloin and he ordered the pecan crusted grouper. About halfway through my meal I discovered a large piece of plastic in my mashed potatoes. Waiter whisked my plate away only to return with the same cold half-eaten steak and hot seemingly fresh potatoes. I was expecting a completely fresh entree. I advised the waiter that this was unacceptable and had him remove the plate. I did receive a free lava cake for my birthday. Partner had no complaints about his grouper entree. Overall a bad experience after coming from such a long way to celebrate my birthday. I can’t recommend Rain.

The amazing view of the barrier reef is worth a stop here. Service is attentive and personal. Food is good but not great. However, it's better than other restaurants rated above this one in which we ate. We dined here 2x during our visit to San Pedro, primarily because its hours and location fit our schedule and geography. When the food catches up to the location and service, this will be a top San Pedro restaurant.

Awesome! I am a picky foodie with food safety and cleanliness expectations that could be challenging in foreign counties and this place met my standards so I felt confident I was getting a good fresh meal. It’s a fantastic location, wonderful views too ~ try to get there for sunset. The appetizers were all fried and just ok, but the main food of steaks, lobsters and ahi tuna salad were legit! Nice vibe with music and easy to find. The service is friendly but a little slow compared to our fast paced life in the states. I appreciated the slow & steady courses and the value of a good dinner conversation. A recommendation for sure for a nice night out while visiting Belize!

Our server, Alejandro, was absolutely amazing from start to finish! He made sure that our entire experience was superb. The fish ceviche was fresh and had different ingredients from anywhere else we had tried it. The pastas were alright and the ahi tuna was excellent. Thank you to Alejandro for making our last night on San Pedro one to remember.

So, let me start by saying the staff is amazing! top notch great service. my husband I came in on a late flight, and they held our reservation for us, past closing. So that in itself is amazing, and we need to acknowledge that up front. My husband and i ordered very quick, as we knew that we wanted to be respectful of the staff that was staying open for us at the request of the resort. the food came, and it really was just subpar. I ordered Ahi, and it was undercooked, it looked like it had just been steamed, but not seared. and my husband just ordered a small appetizer that was also undercooked. the staff was amazing the entire time, so we appreciated them, and tipped them generously for staying late, but the food was not something we would be inclined to back for. also very over priced and in USD not in BZD which we later learned everywhere else on the island is in BZD.

Very disappointed with this restaurant after it had been highly recommended. Our server didn't write down our order because he misplaced his pen. He assured us he could remember it, he did not! He got my order wrong serving a different Mahi Mahi dish. In the meantime, my husband's food got cold waiting for my correct dish to be prepared. Nothing was offered in compensation other than an apology. They knew it was our anniversary as I mentioned it when the reservation was made and again at check in. No recognition was given. We had underwhelming service at high dollar cost!!
