I did a lot of research prior to the trip of things to do and where to go. Rain came up several times. We made a reservation for Friday night at 6:00pm so that we could enjoy the sun setting on the mainland while we...were enjoying the meal. We were seated immediately upon arrival and the view was spectacular. The server was quick to take a drink order and bring us a cocktail while we looked over the menu. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection on the menu. In a previous life I was a Chef/GM of a high end restaurant so I can be quite critical. Anyway I was impressed by the menu, wine list and cocktail list for a somewhat remote destination in Central America. The service was good and the meal was fantastic. We were both very impressed with our experience and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a nice night out on the island.More
Don’t waste your time. Came here in 2016 swore I would never go back. My friends wanted to go so obliged. I don’t write reviews but you need to know. Order Lobster Bisque small portion for price. Ordered coconut shrimp more like popcorn shrimp and...only 8 of them. Ahi tuna just had no taste. Ordered a beer it was hot so I asked waiter to please put some on ice for my next ones to be cold. Next two beers were same temperature. We asked a couple of things about the menu he couldn’t answer. I know it sounds like I am complainer but I usually don’t I just won’t go back. Conclusion beware of the tourist trap of the view it’s ok and the food is average at superior prices and they serve hot beer with a waitstaff you wouldn’t expect at a high end restaurant.More
We ate here for what we hoped to be an elevated dining experience as we were visiting Ambergris Caye for our anniversary. We found, throughout Belize, that hospitality is warm and attentive and incredibly friendly. Unfortunately, at Rain it fell a bit short. Once we...received our food we were left without any service for the remainder of our meal. We did not have a chance to order additional drinks or dessert. Our finished plates sat on the edge of our table for at least 20 minutes until we were finally able to ask our server for the bill when he cleared the table. The food was fine, but I think that when visiting we preferred the more authentic and flavorful experiences of other restaurants to this. A beautiful view and setting, however.More
We reserved here for our first night staying at the Grand Caribe. You can't beat the ambiance with the roof top setting with views of the Caribbean.
Nice creative cocktails available and good quality food. We also had them send room service on our final...evening. The seafood pasta dish was outstanding! There was also live music the evening we were there. All around great atmosphere!More
We went here for my dad’s birthday dinner. It was fantastic! Service was so great and the food was so delicious. We were able to watch the sunset and had gorgeous views from every seat. I highly recommend the blue cheese crusted filet mignon and...Oreo cheesecake!More
We ate at Rain for our last dinner in Belize and had been looking forward to this dinner throughout our whole trip. We asked for hot sauce 3 times over a span of 30+ minutes & for water refills that never came during our dinner....The waiter continued to walk by us and completely ignored us. Such a disappointing meal as our last in San Pedro - we would certainly not recommend it if you would like your waiter to pay attention to you. We are completely understanding of the difficult times during Covid with understaffing, but this was beyond disappointing service.More
Good food, slow service. We ordered the ceviche as an appetizer and it did not arrive before the meal or even with it so we cancelled it. My ribs were so so, don’t recommend them. My sisters seafood pasta was wonderful. It’s a bit pricey...and the prices are listed in American dollars. We ate the Tuesday and would have preferred to try something different but there aren’t a lot of options as many places seem to be closed Monday and Tuesday. This time we ordered the ceviche which was excellent but didn’t order the entrees until it arrived. We got the petit filets which were cooked perfectly. The view is nice. The receptionist was very helpful and attentive, but the kitchen is slow.More
Excellent service, excellent food, and great view of the island. Best restaurant on the island. Very accommodating. We had the following: Ribeye, fish/shrimp pasta, ribs, and chocolate lava cake. Everything came out timely and hot. They even showed concern about our transportation.

If ‘the best way’ means to you ‘the least expensive way’, how about renting a golf cart and self driving up to the restaurant? It’s an easy and entertaining ride. Otherwise I’d suggest you ask the managers at Xanadu about organizing a taxi for you, going north; then when you get to the restaurant ask the host how far in advance you should ask him to call for your return taxi.
