Having already paid for some very overpriced meals in San Pedro my family and I (including three teenagers aged 19, 17 and 16) started asking the locals where they liked to eat. This place was mentioned several times so we decided to bypass the crowds outside Elvie's Kitchen and Carumba's to try it. And what a great choice it was! It looks like a cafe from the outside and within, but the 3 tables already filled were local people, which is always a good sign. We ordered chicken fajitas, beef fajitas x 2, blackened shrimp and a steak burrito, which were cooked by the owner and were delicious and very generously portioned. Our meal for 5, with 3 beers and waters for all cost us BZ110 (USD55) and we all left extremely satisfied! Skip the tourist traps and give this place a go!

Really good local food in a somewhat quirky place. It doesn’t look much, the kitchen is a lot bigger than the seating area and it’s a lot more functional than for show. That said, several lovely meals of decent size in a restaurant at a rare reasonable price in San Pedro. Well worth a 3/4 minute wall from the beach for. Pictured below, the breakfast I had with real bacon, refried beans (not sure what they did to make them so tasty) my piece of cheese and the two ‘fry jacks’, it all just worked together so well, it was 6usd with a bottle of Fanta...... couldn’t get two eggs on the beach for that. The other picture was a chicken curry special I had at lunchtime. It was pictured before my large side bowl of red beans arrived.... With a drink again only hit 6USD.

I highly recommend the stewed meat lunch specials. For very little BZ$, you will get a decent portion of chicken, pork or beef, a mound of coconut rice, and a separate bowl of beans. This also included some mashed potatoes, and I think they cook the potatoes in with the stew meat. It was nicely seasoned, and a huge plate of food. I had the pork, which came in a delicious gravy. Partner had chicken, which was also very good. Service was friendly, and not too slow as in other reviews (probably because they have the dishes ready to go for lunchtime/not cooked to order.) We ate at restaurants all over San Pedro, and this meal stands out. Other than roadside stands, this was the best value for sure. Thanks to the cooks and owner for a very nice meal.

I was recommended this place for affordable breakfast but was disappointed. The people were very friendly but the food took 40 minutes for an omelette just for me and there were only two other couples in there, who already had their food when I arrived. There were 4 people in the kitchen so I’m not sure why it took so long. The omelette was nothing special, the beans weren’t very flavorful, and although the dish came with meat, I wasn’t offered any substitute when I asked for it without meat. I had asked if I could pay with credit card when I ordered and was told yes, but then when I went up to pay I was told by someone else that it didn’t meet the credit card minimum. I spent my 40 minutes waiting reading reviews on here and they seem pretty good, but after this experience I personally wouldn’t go back.

We met a UK food critic outside Pupuseria Salvadoreno, who recommended the conch ceviche inside, the lobster are Waragumas, but the best meal in town for the price was My Secret Deli. This was no hollow tip. Our family stayed in San Pedro two weeks and we returned 7-8 times for great food. Favorites were the blackened fish(snapper), coconut shrimp, shrimp quesadilla, Belizean lunch with chicken, and chicken cordon bleu. Their ice cream was local from Western Dairies, and they rotate cakes on different days with flan, mexican tres leches, etc. The charm is the hospitality of Oscar and his staff. It is not the biggest restaurant, but it is the biggest bang for your buck served with heart.

cosy little spot inside with 5 tables. we chose not to eat outside due to the constant golf cart traffic. my wife had the stewed chicken and beans with coconut rice and a bit of potato salad. i chose the clubhouse the way they prepare it-no bacon or lettuce. it was huge. both dishes were extremely tasty. this family run business made you feel right at home, right down to the cute granddaughter with her nintendo pretending to take our order on it! thanks t/a for another great $ find. we paid $18 bzd + tip without drinks

Don’t let the name fool you... this is more than a deli!!! We had blackened shrimp and curry shrimp, both served with rice and beans and a to-die-for salsa. Took a while; it’s made to order. But worth the wait! We licked the plates clean. SO GOOD! But even better were the owners/servers: we left a bag of souvenirs there by accident and didn’t even realize it. We happened to be walking by, the owner recognized us, gave us the bag, then treated us to a ride to our hotel. This is an experience we won’t forget, and very much in line with our entire experience in this beautiful country.

I only went in for a simple quesadilla but it turned out to be delicious meal with a bit of rice and pasta / potato as well. Friendly staff, really tasty and good value. So good I went back two days later and had it again.

The best meal I had in Belize. I could not put it down - it was amazing! I went expecting a large menu and planning to get something I had seen off menu pictures on google. I don't really know why those pictures are there, because there was no menu and the server just listed off options. I got the chicken stew with rice and beans and a mango smoothie. The food was incredible. I will probably go back again. Highly recommend.

You have to try the burger and stew chicken. The owner is a really nice person and the food is top-notch. When you want to catch a bite to eat inside and beat the heat come here.

I have stopped in and had breakfast at this family run restaurant twice, and have not only received a wonderful breakfast at a great price, but was made to feel welcome by all members of the family. And their meat pies are tasty!

The name threw me. I'm thinking sandwiches. It's not. They do serve breakfast which was delicious. We went there for lunch that was also delicious. Please try their fresh juices. It did not disappoint:)

Came here because of the high reviews. We even asked the locals for some good local food and they suggested this place. Owner of the place was extremely nice and helped us picked our dishes. We went wish the chicken and beef stew with coconut rice. Portions were more than enough . We were looking for a local dish and this was it ! Could just feel it . We also ordered the pineapple juice which was al natural. Overall experience is a 10/10. Would highly visit this and recommend if visiting San Pedro!
