How is El Fogon rated?

We tried a little bit of everything and it was delicious. The Belizean cheese dip was our favorite along with the stewed chicken. Worth taking the time to go! Only downside was the heat, and no air circulation.

Amazing Belizean Meal

Many local residents recommended El Fogon for traditional Belizean cuisine. We were blown away by our meals and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. The wait staff was friendly, informative and passionate about the food they were recommending. Not only were our meals fresh and delicious, but...they were reasonably priced. We will certainly go back and highly recommend for any travelers in search of Belizean food.More

GO HERE. You will not regret it

We have been in San Pedro for 3 days now, and of course all of the food has been delicious but this just took my #1 spot with ease. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE. The food was. IN.CRED.I.BLE. The people were so friendly and...helpful. The atmosphere was laid back. We will more than likely be eating lunch here everyday (it’s across the street from a gym we found), and if we don’t, we will go for dinner at some point. Cannot recommend this place enough!More

The perfect spot for lunch/dinner

Delish!

Conch fritters are a yummy starter. Shrimp Creole is fresh and made my mouth happy. Serve is on Belizean time so do be in a rush. Enjoy you moment and put your phone away.

Try El Fogon

Many locals recommended El Fogon so we had to check it out. It did not disappoint. The food & service was excellent. We had the shrimp creole & conch Cerviche which were delicious. Great place for family & friends

Not worth the hype

The food was fair, nothing spectacular. The salbutes were the best thing we ordered. Wouldn’t bother going again.

Friendly staff and good seafood

Visited Ambergris Caye with my adult son for a fishing trip in March 2023. We had dinner at El Fogon without a reservation and had a very nice meal. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Grilled seafood was well prepared and reasonably priced. Recommend.

Great food, friendly staff

The restaurant was highly recommended by locals as well as long-time resident aliens. It was incredible. Not only were the prices reasonable, the quantity just right, the service friendly, the food was absolutely wonderful. Great ceviche!

We had lunch on our arrival to the island and it was really good. The ceviche portions and price we found to be the best on the island. Great service and drinks as well. Everything we had was delicious.

Recommended by our hotel

We had a nice dinner here. I had a Belizean pork stew that was really tasty - a genuine local style dish that should not be missed. My wife had a grilled lobster that she said was very good (I can't vouch for it because...I am allergic). The place is very casual - this is not fine dining. We ate at a picnic table on a porch adjacent to a street in town. Service was very nice - wait staff was very good to us.More

Edwin aka Patrick Mahomes made such a wonderful impression on us at El Fogon and on San Pedro Island. Thankful for the countless things he did to make sure we were well taken care of, all the recommendations he gave us and for showing us...the best time in San Pedro. Truly went above and beyond. disappointing

We came based on the reviews and were underwhelmed by the food. The curry and stew were oversalted and the chicken arrived cold and dry. Portions on the small side for the cost. we have had much better meals at comparable restaurants in san pedro.

A beautiful lunch date!!

Hubby and I went to have lunch, and it did not disappoint!! It was 1 out of 5 restaurants recommended!! The food was great .. We had lobster cerviche and Con soup 🍲 along with shots of tequila!!
