Let me start by saying that the food at this place was the best food we had in San Pedro (and San Pedro has really good food overall). We ate there TWICE! I highly recommend the chicken or shrimp Salbutes, the fish tacos, and the ceviche mixto (Shrimp, Octopus and Lobster). If you like spicy, ask them for their two... More

First night in San Pedro before we could the local cheap eats. Good local Belizian food, we had a whole Snapper. Easy place to land. The live music was a bit cheesy, but fun.

The place is very nice. The food and drinks are delicious. The prices for what you get are inexpensive. The waiter we had Farid was very nice and knowledgeable about the food. I highly recommend it.

I have never had fried lobster before but our taxi driver recommended this on our way to the airport since it is right across the street. It was delicious. Definitely try it with the traditional rice and beans. Add their habanero sauce if you like a kick.

We didn't think it was as great as others who commented. But it was pretty good, not great. Nice atmosphere in the heart of town.

This was our second trip 6 night trip to Caye Ambergris and we chose (again) to eat dinner twice at El Fogon. This time we had the lobster fritters as appitizers because conch was out of season. I had grilled chicken and chicken in a cream sauce. As always, the food was excellent and the staff make it an AMAZING... More

If you what a taste of local fare El Fogon is the place. It is small and family run, the most authentic flavor one can imagine. The menu includes chicken, fish, lobster, deer, gibnut, salad, etc. This was my favorite on the trip. It is a must eat experience.

So glad we chose El Fogon for dinner! You can't go wrong with the Ceviche and the Shrimp Creole. Make sure and leave room for dessert. The coconut cheesecake was an absolute treat!

This was one of the best places we found on Ambergris Caye. The food was excellent, service was good, and there was live local entertainment.
