This is a great restaurant and bar. It sits over the water for a unique experience and a cool atmosphere. You can even get in the water as they have inner tubes just for customers. Excellent food - highly recommend the best Snapper Fingers we have ever had. Great staff and live music on the weekends. Fun place to hang out with friends!

More than your typical pub, Palapa’s offers on-the-ocean seating, and friendly, courteous service. Clean, well spaced Adirondack chair seating and service, you are afforded a welcome break from continuous mask wearing, once you are seated and eating. Happy hour from 4-6pm is very affordable, and Friday night’s local musical talent performances are fun and relaxing. The food is well prepared, tasty, and plentiful. We ate here several times, trusting their attention to detail. A great choice, with Belizean flair.

I was a little disappointed in my lunch of conch fritters, as they were tough. But three great things called me to try Palapa’s again: 1) The ambiance can’t be beat; 2) my friend loved her fresh fish filet lunch, and 3) our waiter Aaron was the best we encountered after 7 days of lunch and dinner daily in different restaurants on the island. We were lucky and met Aaron again who was working at a furious pace to keep up with a full house on a crazy busy Sunday night. We liked our meals, but we left early to return to our condo and pack for departure.

Had dinner with my husband and was pleasantly surprised. Service started slow but picked up nicely. Dinner started with an amusebouche of parmesan cream with crispy bacon, I didn't expect to like this but I loved it! We had coconut shrimp and Greek salad for appetizers, both were presented beautifully and were delicious. We chen chose the best of both worlds with hand cut fries for dinner. They were perfectly cooked, the meat was tender and delicious and the fries were crispy and creamy. We ended the night with dessert of lemon grass creme brulee which was also really delicious. I would definitely recommend eating here and I will certainly go back. The food was so good I forgot to take pics but I did get the amuse and dessert.

First night in Belize, hungry from long day of traveling, this place hit the spot. Two handed burgers were ordered, they were good & filling (we had to add a lot of salt & pepper to get to our liking). French fries were good, paid extra to have them. Chips & salsa were great. Nachos were a large helping. Fish tacos were good but not filling enough for the guys (therefore needing nachos). Coke served in cold bottles with ice on the side. Setting was great, very tropical. It’s on the water, at the end if a pier. Customers can swim at their dock too. This is extremely close to where we’re staying so I’m sure we’ll be going back.

Good food, pretty good service, more of a bar scene. We went for dinner and it was maybe half full with mostly loud drinkers (it was only about 6:30). This made the servers a bit slow, but they were incredibly nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was good, though I ordered the campfire fish, which had no mention of cream sauce, and it came in a heavy cream sauce. Beautiful set-up, though, and super accommodating.

This place has gone downhill. We went there one of our first nights with a party of 7 and the place was about 25% full. Service was extremely slow, the food took over an hour, and when it came, it was nothing special. We had gone here 3 years ago and had such a good experience that we brought our extended family along for our second visit but were sorely disappointed. Even simple fare was just not good. And, again, it took forever despite not being crowded or full at all. There are so many other great places to go in San Pedro that are 100 times better with better service and better food. What a disappointment.

NYC - I hope you will give us another try the next time you are in San Pedro. We have new management in place since April of 2022 and I think you will find much more to your liking on your return visit. Hoping you will give the new management a try (and allow us to make up for past mistakes).

This was my favorite bar I went to on the island the drinks are very good and fair priced, the bartending staff is very nice and friendly and won’t let your glass get empty before being asked if you would like another. My girlfriend and I found ourselves returning everyday because the bartenders were so good and called us by name every time we returned. (We never ate but all the food coming from the kitchen looked good)

We enjoyed our visit to Palapa Bar and Grill. It had good atmosphere, decoration and location. The lights on the water make a pretty photo and have an enticing appeal. We noticed an area where they have tubes to float on the ocean and they reportedly zipline out a bucket of beer to you. If you have a group of people that could be fun! We had our evening meal there and felt the food was good and the price was comparable to other places in the area. The staff were all friendly. The most fun we had, was when the evening drew in the tarpon and manta rays. The whole place left their seats and were watching them out the wide open windows. It was like being at an aquarium ! After that, everyone was acting like it broke the ice for friendship and started talking and joking around. We saw others playing darts and socializing a bit more. There were mostly tourists and a few locals. When you're leaving, they have you " make your mark" and give you a sharpie to write your name on the wall. We would make it a point to go there again.

This is the sort of place immortalized by that Jimmy Buffett song, even though it was in Belize. We’re literally on the water here…the bar/restaurant is on a dock in San Pedro. The only Belize residents here are the employees…everyone else is American. The singer on stage is from Texas, and he’s hilarious. And, my wife and I are getting hammered. But, this isn’t just a bar that reminds me of home, though I do live by the water in Michigan. The food is amazing, and straight up Belize. We both started with chips and salsa (which was an expertly mixed pico de gallo). The chips are perfectly crunchy. And, following the waitress’ recommendation, we both got the blackened fish tacos. The fish was obviously freshly caught, and deliciously blackened. Habanero hot sauce is available upon request. The service was terrific, too, and the breeze blowing in off the water felt great. I could seriously spend all day here. You do pay a pretty penny for all this, but it all feels worth it.

So this place was right in front of the apartment we stayed at. Recommendations said it was a great place to go for food and drinks. But guess our surprise when we found nothing but Americans in what seems and looks like a typical sports bar. Writing oll over the walls, mediocre if not bland food (the pulled-pork sandwich hat litterly just pulled pork and a bun) and a band in the corner playing karaoke favorites. We kept the buckets coming that night and didn't go back.

Palapa bar is right on the water with a large indoor space and an outdoor deck which allows them to have water space in between the indoor bar and the deck. They took advantage of this and set up 10 to 12 ties that are tied up and rest in water. there is also a platform next to them if you wanted to chill on the platform or jump in to the water. However, the tires is the main attraction of this bar. You can take your drink and relax in the tires, allowing yourself to enjoy the water and sun at the same time. Note, they do not come serve you at the tires, but they do have a pulley system if you want to buy a bucket. you just have to get on the platform to get your bucket. Unfortunately when we went the NFL playoffs were on so instead of live music, they were playing the game so you could only hear the game commentary from the speakers. The drinks are reasonable price. they have your typical bar food but we did not eat there as we are vegetarians and their veg options are limited. We went on sunday morning around noon. Maybe b/c i twas lunch time, the place wasn't very crowded with most of the tires/tubes available. However, it did fill up by 2 PM when we were getting ready to leave. We had the most fun relaxing and drinking and i would def. go back again if given the opportunity. If you can, def. try to relax on the tires/tubes as it's certainly more fun and makes for fun pictures.

We went fishing on 5/25 and took our catch (red snapper) here to have it cooked. They did a great job with the fish. Very good service was good as well. My usual preference is blackened but the fried fish was even better.

Ehh, mediocre food, mediocre service. Location was spot on with an amazing view and my husband enjoyed his fish and liked the live music. For the price, there are better places to eat on the island and every place we ate at had better service.

We always love stopping by Palapa. Drinks are good. I like the Palapa Punch. This time I had the whole Snapper for lunch. It was delicious. My wife was a little disappointed in the size of the guacamole appetizer. Very tiny portion the size of what you get at a Chipotle when you order chips and Guac. But you can't beat the view. You can even enjoy floating on an inner tube while they lower you a bucket of beer. Lots of banners for spots teams hanging up bin the Palapa ceiling. Many folks seem to enjoy signing the poles that support the roof.
