You will love the homemade rolls or cornbread. Authentic , not fake smiling service. Daily specials with generous portions. Homemade deserts and a great menu with meat or chicken rolls and 2 homemade vegetables for less than 9 bucks.

Notice this restaurant with its claim to be one of the best restaurants around (or words to that effect but I can't remember the exact wording on their sign). Unfortunately it turned out to be a disappointing experience. Basic menu items, nothing standing out as in any way exceptional. As it was lunch time I had a BLT as there... More

When you are in the mood for good 'ole home cooking, this is the place to go! Their veggies taste like they just came out of the garden and their fried chicken -- yum! You won't be disappointed.

Met friend for lunch yesterday. Was all excited about really good down home cooking. Honestly, Cracker Barrel has better fried okra!! Really? Don't misunderstand me, it is nice place to meet someone. Cornbread was very good. But they had some gross "butter blend" - did not even offer real butter. It was terrible and (to me) ruined the bread. My friend... More

Good 'ol Southern food in a restored farmhouse. In nice weather you can enjoy your meal on their large covered porch. Extensive selection of vegetables available; probably 20 different items every day. Entree' selections are limited but tasty; I recommend the fried chicken breast. This place is unique and well-known among locals although the location is hard to find for... More

I have eaten lots of cooked veggies in my time, and this place was fairly good at providing those. The variety and choices were good, but the overall taste was just average (sorry, my grandmother was a great cook, so I am probably setting the bar high!) But the service was very good.

Made my first stop at Midway Mealhouse, and it won't be my last! I got out on my motorcycle early Sunday morning, wanting a great local place for breakfast (hard to find one open on a Sunday). They were open at 7:00, and I dropped in. I took a seat on the covered front porch and then explored a ton... More

The Meal House is as good as it gets for a " Southern Comfort " meal. The food is delicious , a large variety of vegetables from which to choose, above average portions and reasonable prices. The service is fast, efficient and friendly. We enjoy the "old farm house" atmosphere. During peak service hours there can be a brief waiting... More

My wife cooks like Paula Dean (and her food is better than Paulas!) so when we eat out - this is her favorite place. It is great southern style food. But they have some things all palates will like. The breakfast is awesome. We tend to eat there in the mornings. Dinner is good, too. Can't go wrong. Need comfort... More
