Hubby and I had a good case of cabin fever, so we got into the closed capsule of our vehicle to take a drive out in the country. We ended up in Albany, GA. Being hungry, we thought we'd stop at a drive thru and...grab something. We spotted the Hong Kong Cafe - who had the ingenius idea of opening their front door and turning it into a take out counter. It was brilliant. Menues were placed on a table in front of the door - you could place your order over the phone or online. We called our order in. The aromas leaking out around the protection panels were absolutely heavenly. We love Chinese Food and this was not a disappointment. Cashew chicken was HOT, tasty, plentiful and OH SO GOOD!! It was worth the wait. The hardworking young woman manning the phones and handing the orders thru the window and taking payments was cheery and pleasant and because of the mask and the protective devices made sure to point the the "Thank you for your business" sign in her window. We will take the drive from Eufaula when the world opens up again and drive to Albany, GA...and enjoy a meal in what looks to be their spacious dining room and we hope the experience will be just as delicious. This was an absolute wonderful change from cooking at home or hitting a fast food drive thru. Hong Kong Cafe - lots of choices, lots of delicious and the chubbiest egg rolls we've seen in years and they were delicious and not the least bit greasy. Delectable!!More

Lobby: Nice Customer Service: Good Food Quality: Good Its fast food Chinese, with a waitress. The food is always good. Your typical American Chinese restaurant. The lunch and dinner special are good. I do like the pickled salad they give you. I have eaten here...4 times and each time the food is good. If you haven't been and you are in the mood for Chinese than check them out. You will not be disappointed. Recommended.More

It hasn't been the same since Ms. Mae, the previous owner, left. However the Wednesday Happy Hour specials are the best!! The food and quantity are decent...don't expect "authentic" Chinese food but it's ok.

I visit the Albany area on business several times a year. Recently I was looking for a place to eat and almost went into a Mexican restaurant that I had been to before when I noticed the Hong Kong Café. I stopped a gentleman that...was exiting and he recommended it highly. I was not disappointed, the staff was friendly, the décor was comfortable, and the food was excellent. I had to take some back to the hotel, portions were generous. I highly recommend it.More

Tried to order delivery from these clowns .. price didn't add up and they wouldn't honor the promotion clearly printed on their menu. Proceed with caution.

Being from Europe and having lived in Asia for many years the meals were strange Menu has plenty of choices. The Thai red curry I had was a creamy colour and on a flat plate and just did not look right The taste was okay...but nothing great Bottled beer choices were good no draft. Very limited wine choice and a strange selection of different size glasses They offer $1 beer and wine on a Saturday nightMore

Enjoyed their specials of the day which was Thai food. Good tasting food with fairly large quantity, making it reasonably priced. Friendly chinese waitress who accommodated our request for vegetarian food.

Was in town for work and had a craving for chinese food. But it was not great. The food was underseasoned and the fried rice was not good. The egg rolls had barely any filling so when you bite into it, it was just skin....The chicken wings were over fried, but the worst was the hot and sour soup. No taste and so over starched, it was like drinking dark slush. If this is the best, I shudder to think of how bad the other places are. I still gave it 3 stars because the service was friendly and I do consider that it's is Albany, so I cut them some slack.More

On a road trip to Birmingham from south Florida, we stopped for the night in Albany, Georgia. After a long day on the road, we just wanted to get something decent to eat, enjoy a hot bath, and hit the bed. Looking online, we found...the Hong Kong Cafe, with great reviews. They don't deliver, but were close to our motel. I called in a take out order, and soon went to pick it up. A very pleasant restaurant, with a nice, polite staff and the typical slightly bright, kitschy atmosphere of many informal Chinese restaurants. After paying for the food, I headed back to the motel. My mouth was watering from the wonderful aromas emitting from the bags. Once I got to the room, my girlfriend and I dug in, and were both increasingly amazed at the quality and taste of what we had. I had ordered my standard sweet & sour pork, and she the chicken egg foo young, both with pork fried rice. The quantity of food was impressive, but the quality was incredible. The pork was fresh, hot, and perfectly fried, but not at all greasy. The egg foo young was perfect as well, and the brown sauce oh, so good. We both ate more than we thought we would, and ended up being a bit uncomfortably full, but what the hell. It was superb. I've been to Hong Kong, and don't remember having anything there that was any better than what we enjoyed in this small Georgia town. Do yourself a favor and visit the Hong Kong Cafe in Albany. Its worth a detour if not an outright destination!More
