About
OUR STORY Let Seafood Kitchen serve you the freshest seafood Jacksonville has to offer. The Stuart's- father and son duo- have been serving ridiculously large portions at super low prices for 32 years and counting! Seafood Kitchen has a new face to share with Jacksonville. The Stuarts still hang their biggest catch on the wall, they still serve huge family portions, fishermen still boast about their latest catch, and generations of local patrons dine with tourist and businessmen on locally, and often owner caught seafood.

Coming from 3 days of fine dining at a conference, we were looking for great food in a simple setting. Seafood Kitchen was just what we wanted, but finding the place was not easy! You turn north from Atlantic Boulevard onto Royal Palms and immediately turn east behind the first buildings on your right. Seafood Kitchen is a simple, informal restaurant that serves traditionally-cooked fresh local seafood and chalkboard specials. Portions are generous and prices reasonable. The walls are decorated with the largest fishes caught by the father and son that run the place. We started with a half pound of Royal Red Shrimp, dusted with Old Bay seasoning. Our server said they come from deep water. They were large and sweet and perhaps the outstanding dish among those that we and our friends ordered. I had flounder sauteed with butter and served over a crabmeat stuffing - simply cooked and delicious. My wife had a shrimp salad sandwich with coleslaw. She liked it, but the shrimp wasn't as special as the Red Shrimp! Our server was helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. With a couple of beers and the tax, we paid just over $48 for dinner for two. The other diners were friends and families having fun, which, with the helpful servers, made a nice atmosphere.

Wanted to try a new seafood restaurant while in JAX for Mayo Clinic. Dr. had recommended Seafood Kitchen. Liz was our server and she was excellent. She knows her fish and represents the restaurant with unique enthusiasm. First time we've ever had trigger fish but another review on TA had recommended it. We ordered it broiled and it was sweet and mild. Cole slaw was fresh and tartar sauce is made in-house . Key lime pie was excellent, peanut butter pie was good but not what I expected. Gumbo was the soup of the night and it had mild kick and a nice smokey flavor. Seafood Kitchen is very casual and very popular with in person dining and carry outs. We were early for dinner and I was comfortable where we were seated but, when full, the seating is too close for my comfort during Covid. Combine that with 3-4 people waiting at the door to pick up their food. Staff wore masks most of the time but few patrons entered wearing masks. Our lunch sized portions with tea and two desserts was close to $60 yet served on aluminum foil, as pictured. But, the fish and Liz are worth a return trip.

We were able to sit down immediately and Melody was fantastic from the start. Our appetizers came quickly and we really enjoyed both the crab bites and fried green tomatoes. Our entrees were huge and delicious. Melody was attentive in refilling our drinks and making sure we had everything we needed. We had a terrific meal and will definitely be back!

We chose to eat here because my friends in the past have been satisfied well not anymore. The scallops came out cold, literally cold! When asked for a new serving that was hot he received half an order when in fact it had ordered the larger plate. They did bring more but the scallops were the smallest I have ever seen. Same thing for the shrimps I too ordered! Don’t bother coming here is you are looking for large servings that are hot!

Not too big a place and they don´t take reservations. They are open for long hours and have a friendly and efficient service. The pricing is very reasonable to start with and if you take the daily special, i.e Wednesday $7.30 dozen raw oysters; or Tuesday $12 lb crab legs, its even better. Portions are also big. Can´t wait to go back...highly recommended.

Seafood kitchen is open for take out orders only. We are regular customers and want to support them during this difficult time (and continue to enjoy their amazing food). I am reluctant to get take out from any restaurant though because the order is usually wrong and the amount of food is much less than in the restaurant. Well...that was not the case with seafood kitchen. Brianna took our order and the food was excellent and food abundant. Everything was exactly right even though we added and had substations. Please support this family restaurant with take out orders until they are able to open to full service again.

The crab soup was divine. My husband and I both had trigger fish sandwiches (fried and broiled) and they were cooked to perfection. He said the fried okra was the best he'd had. Melody, our server was very attentive, informative and responsive. Her recommendations were excellent . We will definitely be back.

Went for a Saturday dinner based on a recommendation from the hotel. It is a very casual place with limited seating. It was busy but we got a table without a wait. The food was typical seafood fare. We had to wait a long time for the food to be served and although the Seafood Casserole was browned on top it was cold as was the sweet potato. We won't be back.

We used to eat here years ago when we lived local. Decided to get take out tonite. Fried oyster plate was horrible, took one bite and the rest of it went in the trash. Tarter sauce was more of Mayo base. The Fried Shrimp was good.

This was our first trip to Seafood Kitchen and my wife and I were extremely satisfied with everything we had. We shared a cup of Gumbo that was out of this world and then munched down on some Gator Tails that were fantastic. Our meal was the best of the best with a Seafood Combination that had more shrimp, oysters, scallops, and fish then two people could eat. We will be back!

We come to Jacksonville on a regular basis for medical care at the Mayo Clinic. When we do we always make sure to have at least one meal at the Seafood Kitchen. Our most current trip and visit to this great place to eat was probably the best meal we’ve ever had there and that’s saying a lot! I had a great oyster stew appetizer - lots of oysters. Wife had seafood gumbo that she loved. We upgraded a side to very good side salads. Then we split a wonderful stuffed grouper. Stuffed with great crab meat - really a super taste. I had a big good baked potato for my second side and she had collards she really liked. Good hush puppies as well. And the prices are very reasonable. And service always friendly, courteous and efficient. We asked for “timed” servings and were accommodated in a way that enhanced our enjoyment versus most places putting everything in front of you at the same time. Just a very enjoyable meal. Not fancy - but very good! Highly recommend! You will enjoy!

I hate writing a mediocre review for a place where the food was so tasty. But as soon as we walked in I was uncomfortable with the closeness of the tables and people walking around without masks. But we'd just arrived in town, it was so late and we were so tired that we stayed. I passed on the Maine Lobster - that is so not local - and went for the triggerfish which was really good. The grits were not the best I've had but the coleslaw and hushpuppies were delicious. My husband had the scallops and liked them. But I hated and was made so uncomfortable by our server who wore her mask more or less as a chin strap, with the top positioned just at the break in her lips so that she could talk over it. We are here for a month and thinking of moving here, but I'll not go back until Covid is history.

We went out last night for my husband’s birthday. He was looking forward to good seafood but a casual setting. This was perfect. There were four of us and everyone loved their meals. We enjoyed the calamari appetizer, red snapper and stuffed shrimp dinners. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Our server, Liz, was friendly and attentive. She explained all the dishes in detail. If you are looking for great seafood at a great price, we highly recommend Seafood Kitchen.

Caught this little place in the corner of my eye, getting out of the car. Lucky us! Liz helped us order exactly the right dishes for lunch: fresh, well-prepared and delicious at reasonable cost. We’ll be back whenever Jacksonville is in our travel plans.

Nothing fancy - small southern kitchen style. Melody was our waitress. She was courteous, prompt, and efficient. Everyone in our party really enjoyed the food. The fried grouper was lightly breaded and very tasty. Too much for one person to finish. Stuffed shrimp was the best I ever had. Clam chowder was excellent. We would definitely recommend the Seafood Kitchen if you’re looking down home tasty seafood.
