Whenever staying in Panama City Beach we enjoy a trip to Apalachicola to visit the unique stores and have an interesting lunch at this establishment which is aptly named. The food is fresh, great tasting and the staff's friendly bickering adds to the homey atmosphere of this place. They serve the freshest, sweetest tasting raw oysters anywhere.....I enjoy them every time. Others had fried shrimp basket, bowl of boiled shrimp and a hamburger. Well we know from previous experience that the seafood is fresh and tasty....now we can confirmed that the burgers are also great tasting. Good food for all tastes. Love this place.....

This restaurant is literally “a hole in the wall.” Four tables, three of which are large “family style “ and a bar with about ten seats. The small staff is very friendly. I was seated at the bar and when my oysters were ready my server looked all over the restaurant trying to find who ordered them and she was who took my order. All part of the charm. The food is excellent. The beer is from Grayton Beach and not the local Oyster City brewery. It was good beer nonetheless.

Rode motorcycles through a Apalachicola few times with a buddy from N Ft Myers and would tell my wife how great this ittle town was. So when we rented a house for a month in N Ft Myers, she wanted to stop in and check it out on our way back to Illinois. We only stayed in town one night, but we hit two oyster places. This is a walk-up place looking right out on the marshes, with houseboats parked right below it. We sat out on the enclosed patio/deck and had three types of oyster and one type of sauteed clams. All the food was excellent. Service was very friendly. I give this place a four instead of a five only because you could not get a nice bottle of wine to go with all of that great seafood.

I don’t even know where to begin. The whole experience was great. The crew working there are a blast. Barbara, the hostess is something else, barking orders and greeting customers in her own special way. Danny and Dwayne are a hoot as well. They both are funny as can be and can tell some great stories. The food was outstanding. We had oysters with butter and Parmesan, they were large, plump and mouth watering. Do yourself a favor and try the local made hot sauce called Joel’s Haunted Hot Sauce, it is so good. My wife got shrimp and it was really good. I got the grouper fingers and was blown away. Best grouper I have ever eaten. I would highly recommend Hole In The Wall when in the area, I know we will visit every time we are in the area.

I had high hopes for this restaurant, since it has such rave reviews on-line, but we were surprisingly disappointed. We sat at the bar, but were ignored by staff even though we were right in front of their faces. The waitress was loud and crass, I think this is the "entertainment" that the reviews speak of, but it was obnoxious not entertaining. The fella shucking the oysters was very nice. The raw oysters were tasty. The oysters with toppings (parmesan and the bacon/jalapeno oysters) were microwaved right in front of us. We were shocked to say the least. We were not expecting the oysters to be topped and then shoved into a microwave to melt the cheese. Our overall experience was disappointing, the food and service were subpar. We won't be returning the next time we are in apalachicola.

This is a rather small old time dive/oyster bar with a colorful wait staff/owner on duty. Simple menu, great seafood gumbo, fresh oysters and cold beer. Warning, small, crowded and they close early. But go there, you won't regret it.

I would have given a 5 if not for the total lack of COVID measures. No staff members were wearing masks, no food service gloves and the condiment tray on table had dirty lids. Disturbing. The raw oysters were outstanding.

Locals highly recommended this place when asked where to go for best oysters in town and believe me it did not disappoint. My friend and I sat at the bar and were immediately entertained by owners Dan, Dewayne and Deborah, also known as Barbara. It was a hoot. An experience that should not be missed.

We stopped by for some oysters and seafood and loved it the minute we walked in!! It's a throwback to another time, with fun decor and super fun staff. We sat at the small "bar" area and watched all the oysters being shucked for the many orders that were placed by customers. The oysters are cold and large. We ordered a dozen plain and a dozen with the parmesan/butter sauce. The parmesan was salty, and not to our taste but the raw oysters were delish! We also got the steamed and spiced shrimp basket and they were good with a slight heat to them. The gumbo broth is well prepared, although light on the okra and seafood. Key lime pie is excellent! We enjoyed soaking up the local history with the long time Apalach staff.

It looks a bit odd from the street but it a fun experience. The threesome that run the place are interesting to watch as they yack with customers and serve the food. We had a couple of baskets. My wife loved her grouper sandwich. The crabcake was fine and the shrimp better. The key lime pie!!!! Loved it.

Hole in the Wall is well named! A very small space with great heart! Also really great oysters every time. Seafood is local normally, but oysters are imported when local ones are not available. If there is no free table (happens a lot) ask to join another group. It’s normal here. You will meet locals, tourists, lots of fun for us. There is other really good food, but I’m in for oysters I the Oyster Capital!

Great friendly atmosphere here. Limited seating though. We sat at the bar, as the tables was for bigger groups. The service was great and our food was cooked perfectly. My wife had a combo basket with a crab cake and fried shrimp. She said it was amazing. I myself don’t eat seafood so I had the cheeseburger. They used quality beef and it was cooked just right. This place seems to stay busy so my recommendation is to be there a few minutes before they open. That was what we did, and the seats inside filled up quickly, and they went to a wait list. Even if you have to be on a wait list, wait. The food is worth it.

The name describes the place but not the food. The food was excellent! This is a place they will finish a story about who’s done what in town before coming to get your drink order. The vibe is perfect. We did a stop over on the way up from Captiva/Sanibel and I’ll be honest, the peel and eat shrimp, raw oysters, and Grouper were better than anything we had down there for a third the price. We highly recommend it.

We were the first customers after reopening the beginning of May. The owners were so pleasant to talk with. But the food - oh my - the food was just terrific. The oysters were the best ever eater, and I have eaten quite a few. The the meal, fresh seafood of course, was cooked perfectly and so very, very fresh. This place is not to be missed. You can bet we'll be back!
