Dips has great tasting ice cream at a reasonable price. There is huge patio with aires that are covered for shade. The staff is very helpful, friendly and courteous. Dips is centrally located on Pine Street along with a number of various shops. There is ample parking. This is a great place to stop, have ice cream and enjoy the downtown area of the city of Anna Maria.

We were staying on Anna Maria Island for a few days and randomly walked past here and decided to try it.
Lots of goodies to choose from, and the friendly girl serving was more than happy for us to sample a few each (she probably would have let us try every flavour if we'd asked!)
My wife got the chocolate brownie ice cream which was very nice.
I got a mixture of their 2 coffee flavours as I couldn't choose between them.
The 'exhausted parent' was very good. Bourbon and coffee flavour with fudge and chocolate pieces in. The Latte-Da was equally as good. Much stronger coffee flavour with pieces of chocolate.
Portion size was very good.
However, I would say that it's more expensive than the other ice cream shop a few minutes walk away which also has a very large range of flavours and their ice cream is slightly better in my opinion.

Stopped at Dips just to get some ice cream and truthfully, it's not just an ice cream parlor. It was an experience of superior kindness and hospitality. It has the feeling of stepping back in time when customers were more like family than a dollar sign. The store is filled with sports memorabilia and the homemade ice cream was some of the best I've ever had. I recommend the blueberry cheesecake ice cream, amazing!! Several of the workers tended to us and were extremely welcoming. The owner, Vic, treated my family and me like we were cousins visiting from out of town. I highly recommend you drop by Dips if you're vacationing on Anna Maria island. I would have given 10 stars on service alone!

I'm so embarrassed on how I was treated by the owner tonight in front of my 10 year old son. There is a General Store with the Ice Cream store up front. We have been in both many times over the last few days. I go in tonight and get a gallon of milk and a bottle of wine while my son is picking out candy. I was then told I had to pay for the groceries in the back, ok no problem. I come to pay for the candy and the owner wouldn't touch my items. He Embarrassed me and told me to keep them because he saw me touch my nose. There were no masks required nor did he have one or gloves. Yep I took the $16.00 worth of candy because I knew he would just throw it away. He made me feel terrible and embarrassed me in front of other customers but especially my son.

Two smallish scoops of ice cream $6.50 + tax + tip (why punish the employee?) almost $16.00!!
No complaints about the service or the ice cream but the cost was outrageous. Kids cones are $5.50 so if you have 3 kids and two adults that’s about $35.00!
Prices are not posted on the walk up window. Do you wonder why?

We have been going to Dips for around 18 years and this year was our last. I suppose the owners son who appears to be taking over, is kind of rude and watching out for his inheritance. I ordered 1 scoop in a bowl and it was about half of what we are use to getting and very expensive. We tried out the AMI Beach Hut and the ice cream was amazing, the staff was very friendly and it was about $3 cheaper for twice as much ice cream.

We were exploring and stumbled upon this great place and its owner Vic. The ice cream here is amAzing - high in butter fat, so rich & flavorful. So many flavor options! If the ice cream wasn’t enough, we were surprised to find a huge selection of baseball cards, sports memorabilia and a huge array of candy - old favorites we haven’t enjoyed since childhood. We will definitely be back!

Not many better ways to end a vacation night than with tasty ice cream! Our family of 5 frequent Dips and enjoy their many many flavors to pick from. Convenient little general store inside... exterior order window outside if ya like. Cool lit deck to hang out on and wrap up the day's events.
Will be back time and time again.

We come to AMI yearly and found this on our lasted trip. My kids begged to go nightly….we went often and each time it was great ice cream and great service! A definite must very trip now!!

Best Ice cream on the island! Don’t go anywhere else! We love Dips, and the owner Victor is the best owner on the island. Our family has been coming here for 30 years to the island and this is the only ice cream shop we go to on AMI!

Their ice cream comes from Madison, Wisconsin. (Just happens to be my hometown). But can’t find better ice cream anywhere else. Plus, they have clever names for the flavors. Would highly recommend.

This business has been here for decades, local run and authentic.
Great ice cream and great novelty candy to top off your nostalgic relaxing trip to Anna Maria island. It’s on the main drag near eateries to visit for dessert or enjoy as a midday treat like we did today!
Love the memory lane candy! Great owner and good people. Open late for a late night craving too.
I would post a pic of the ice cream we ate but we ate it too fast! 😂

The ice cream is great, and the ice cream counter is in front of a tiny general store/deli. Scoops are expensive, but probably everything is on the island. I like the waffle bowls for our young nieces.

Dips is found in the Anna Maria General Store. It has a large selection of hand-dipped ice cream. Nothin super exciting but a great place to get a cup or cone of ice cream. It has a very nice outdoor area in which to enjoy your ice cream.

Our second time visiting AMI with our family. Dips is the BEST place to go for ice cream and great service! By far the best, most variety of flavors with big servings. Vic makes such an effort to get to know and talk to his customers.
