We stopped by at Saturday lunchtime to check out the restaurant and Deli. The Deli is minimal but we were immediately drawn into the restaurant. The decor is right out of Bavaria and Bar is well stocked and inviting. We ordered a Brat sampler (3 different char-grilled brats) with potatoe salad and saurkraut. A glass of dry Riesling and a... This is a fun and quiet gem in Aurora, the service can be a little slow but they are genuinely nice people that know their menu. The beer selection is extremely authentic and you have a wide variety of options including a 3L Boot of beer!

Octoberfest beer available year round! My kind of place! Very friendly staff. The bar and bar area resemble a rustic German pub and on some nights there is a live performer. The food is good and reasonably priced and there is also a small deli. You can bring your kids....but for the sake of us single guys who just want... More

Helga's is positioned on the outer rim of the mall, a location that typically attracts the most vanilla of casual dining options with little character or personality. Not so here. The food was exceptional, the beer choices heavily German, and the service was great. The schnitzel could use a pinch more salt, but otherwise, the food was spot on, in... More

The service was pretty good I've had better. And I would say it was a matter of busyness in the kitchen that made the service just a little spacey. I didn't have a time crunch so it wasn't a problem for me. Now for the food, it was some of the best German food around. You will not be sorry... More

I hardly ever give a 5 star rating, but when I do, it's deserved! If you truly love Germany food, this place is authentic! OMG! I had the rouladen, red cabbage and kroketten! As good as my Omaha made it for sure! And I LOVED her cooking. We will be back over and over again!

Food was only average for the price. No bread is served with the dinners. The atmosphere is like a visit to Germany, though,

It only took me 10 minutes to get to Helga's from Gateway. Worth the trip. 7 German beers on tap. Wurst, schnitzel, spatzel - all fantastic. Good service. Thursday is all you can eat schnitzel, so it was busy. Live music too!

We have been to many so-called German restaurants in the United States since my wife is German born and raised. Helga's has been the best experience so far. We loved browsing the little store in front of the restaurant. We ordered a platter so we could try different meats and side dishes. The food was very good and the staff... More

Such good, authentic German food. Got the brats with squash and German noodles... so good. Also came with a soup or salad and we were all stuffed!
