Nice atmosphere. Good for date night. Sushi is fresh, and rolls are made nice and tight. Sushi chefs are friendly. Our rolls were slightly skimpy on fish. Rainbow rolls had thin slices of fish, not as meaty as Denver restaurants. Had a saketini that was rather flavorless, even though it was described as containing cucumber and ginger flavors.

If you want to drop $200 and leave hungry and unsatisfied, boy is this the place for you. This place used to do good sushi and I understand paying a premium for fresh fish in pricey Aspen and at 10000 feet. What I can get over is the $50 carafe of mediocre sake that was only a third full, the... More

Came into town last night my family all ordered sushi I order the chicken teriyaki. All their food came out and mine was 10+ minutes later. Why I was served was 2 small chicken skewers with teriyaki sauce on them. I asked the waiter is this the chicken teriyaki for $29 and he said yes. I asked then doesn't it... More

Went by myself, sat at the sushi bar. The men making sushi - Matt and Dusty - were a little gruff with me but lovely to the locals and others who were dining, think me being a single male, maybe they just left me along on purpose? Was really happy with the food. The Alaskan King Salmon nigiri was buttery... More

There are only a few choices when it comes to sushi in Aspen. Since the famous Takah Sushi finally closed its doors after season after season of "We mean it this time, we are closing for good parties!", there still remains 3 viable options as a new spot Maru has opened in it place. We have been to Maru a... More

There are a couple of venues for eating sushi in Aspen. They range from dilapidated to way too expensive and uppity. However comfortable upscale ambiance, great service and great food is always guaranteed at my fave: Kenichi. I've taken my family there for years, and we've never been disappointed. Some items come out and we embarrassingly actually order another round... More

The quality of the sushi/sashimi and other dishes was first rate. We were a party of two and sat at the sushi bar. The food is nearly on par with Matsuhisa but without the astronomical prices. The only complaint was the service, which was mediocre at best (which is often a bit awkward when served by the wait staff while... More

Whenever we are in Aspen we always dine at either Kenichi or Matsuhisa - this summer it was Kenichi! The food is very good and fresh and the menu has a great variety, but be warned, it is very expensive!

Very good sushi.. And great service ... Had the Dynamite Shrimp, and Nigiri sushi combo and soft shell crab roll... All was great...Also had the torched salmon which was just ok, not as special as the rest...all prepared by a Cowbiy sushi chef named Dusty- quite unusual but top notch
