Nice quiet John Wayne-themed restaurant with great steaks. Sides of french fries (delicious) and mashed potatoes.Starter was minestrone (home made). A great meal. And gentlemen, please visit the restroom to use the John Wayne-sized urinal!

We were staying across the road at one of the hotels. And it was an easy walk over. I really enjoyed my meal. My steak was juicy. And my daughters burger was large and filling.

Nice steakhouse right on the main drag. The waitress was very friendly and the service was very good as well.

Good local restaurant. Salad and rolls were good as well as the service. My steak was disappointing.

We were staying at a campground close by and headed into town to grab a bite to eat and this just happened to be the first place we came upon. There was a couple coming out so we ask them how the food was and they said the steaks were excellent. The seating area we were at had wagon wheel... More

True Grits is a bar-steakhouse place. The service was excellent, and the little helper was a joy to converse with. The portions are large, so it's a good value. The food itself was a little bland, but everything was fresh. I would choose this place over a chain restaurant anytime.

We arrived at a little after 4pm which is their opening time. There were no lights on and no cars in the lot. It was a bad sign, but my sister had recommended this as one of her only places to eat in Alamosa. We waited for a while then I tried the door. Mint was open so I walked... More

Ate 2 wounderful meals Friday & Saturday night. The salads were a great beginning, mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, onion with mix greens. Sunflower bread. The Top sirloin and New York strip were prepared to perfection. This restaurant has been resurrected.

Being from Texas I eat a lot of steaks. The 14 oz ribeye was about 18 ounces, tender, not over seasoned and cooked perfectly. My wife had the snow crab legs and they were very good. The fried asparagus was very good also. The John Wayne memorabilia was cool.

This steakhouse was recommended by the hotel as a great steakhouse. It may be but on this night it was very low quality food. I will say they discounted my meal 50% but I only ate 15% of the meal. I ordered the bacon wrapped filet and the bacon had turned so when the steak was cooked all I could... More
