It's the only Chinese restaurant on Catalina, but it's all you need. Nothing fancy or fusion. Good old-fashioned Chinese food and atmosphere. A favorite of the locals. Reasonable lunch specials. (I will upload a photo of the lunch menu.)

We were told this was a good spot to eat. NOT. Worst Chinese we have ever ate. Both of us left 1/2 our food. The hot and sour soup was bland. The almond chicken was as flavorful as KFC's mashed potatoes and gravy. Szechuan dish was also poor. The egg roll was just OK but a mini size. Best part... More

Ning's has always been a go to when we get tired of seafood. Consistent service and comfort food have made this place a favorite of locals and in the know visitors for years. The Catalina Island Company owns this property and will absorb it for the the renovation of the Atwater hotel . Sad , but they will hopefully open... More

In all the years we've been coming to Avalon, we'd never got to this little place until this last trip. We were looking for a light lunch, and this was fabulous. I especially liked the fried rice. The tea was loose leaf tea in the teapot, so we had to be a bit careful pouring it but it tasted good.... More

Off the main street, we chanced upon Mr Ning's Garden and were pleased with our lunch. We were seated at the counter as it was very busy, mostly Chinese folk which to me is a good judge of a restaurant, if the locals eat there. Very simple atmosphere but the servers were so friendly and efficient, they made you feel... More

Just arrived on the island and wanted a quick dinner. Had beef and broccoli and the kungpo chicken. Both were very good. Sweet and sour soup was as well. Prices were very fair.

Mr. Ning's Chinese Garden is a great choice when you are on Catalina Island. It's off theh beaten path, a short walk, and well worth it! The lunch specials are incredible! Lunchh specials range $7.75 to $7.95 with plenty of choices. The Chicken and Vegetables was an excellent choice, and was enough for two children to share, one adult would... More

Great food! I was not sure what to expect, as the restaurant is one of those "chabby" chic kinda joints. But the food was wonderful. Hot and tasty and really excellent! I can't wait to go back to Catalina to eat there again.

I like this restaurant and whenever I"m in Catalina will go there for lunch. Portions are big even if you are really hungry. Ambient of restaurant has not being changed for years, maybe it's time. Staff can sometime be blunt, especially lady that works on cash register,I think that maybe she is the owner.

When we have a house full of family we traditionally have one night of Mr. Nings. Last time, with toddlers in tow we decided to do take out. Eight entrees was enough food for 10 adults and 3 kids. Is was much easier to eat at the house. Some family favorites are crispy fish, the broccoli, chicken.
