Got takeout from here one night. I wouldn't have minded eating on-site--the decor is a bit above the standard Chinese-American restaurant decor, what with the numerous whimsical upside-down parasols hanging from the ceiling. Staff was friendly and spoke Cantonese. I ordered the combination lo mein and turned it into a "Garden Dinner" so it included soup, fried shrimp and an... More

I love this restaurant and have for 20+ years. On a recent 3 day trip to the island I had to eat there twice to get in all the dishes I wanted. It really is the best deal in Avalon.

Mr. Nings is so great because is about as good a Chinese food as you'll find anywhere, and it is at a great price. You have 3 price options in Avalon.. High priced awesome food(about $30/ plate), burger stand fast food($7/plate), and Mr. Nings(avg $8/plate for big portions). Very authentic with most of the servers / hostess working there for... They are open for lunch and then again for dinner. The staff was very nice and we enjoyed the food. We were a family of 8 and they had plenty of seating for us to all eat at one table. Good for a group. Not as crowded as other places in Avalon

Compared to all of the other places in town this place is a great bargain. The dinner combinations are huge and are available to go. I'm a big eater and I was able to make a few meals out of my food. Everything was tasty and decent quality. Of course it's probably not going to be as good as your... More

When visiting a tourist location seldom do you find the combination of what most consider "standard" prices and the quality you've come to expect. Mr. Ning's is that place on Catalina Island. For the most part food is standard Chinese food. Very Good, but not reinventing the wheel here. Although the green beans are unbelievable. Yes, the green beans! I've... More

This is a cute little chinese restaurant and it seemed popular, so we decided to have lunch there. The service was good, but we were very disappointed with the quality of the food...we tried their lunch specials, and none of them were very tasty. Maybe it's just us, there seemed to be people dining there at all times.

This is one of our favorites! The food is great, fresh and reasonably priced. Chill atmosphere a break from the bustle of the harbor boardwalk.
