This is really a 3 1/2 star rating. Now don't jump to any conclusions. They almost certainly have the best overall Chinese food in the Auburn area. Their broccoli and black mushroom dish is great (order extra shrooms). But the problem with these people is that if you try ordering over the phone, if one of the two women answer, DO NOT expect your meal to either be correct or even made. Their English as about as good as my Mandarine. Even though the food is fantastic, you waste 20 to 30 minutes having to order it in person (the last time I literally had to point at the dish in question to get it ordered). I'll keep coming back, but for convenience and quality, Twin Dragon is better. If you don't mind the wait, then Szechuan is the winner.

Tremendous food served hot and spicy as requested in a very fast and efficient restaurant! A must go to place.

Felt so bad for the many restaurants that went for days without power thanks to the PG&E power outages so decided to support this restaurant again. I really love the food and service at this restaurant. They do have new menus and the prices are up a little on the lunch specials but their specials are good 7 days a week. My granddaughter was a little disappointed in the sweet and sour chicken. The chicken was batter fried and she is on the Keto Diet so batter fried are a no no for her. I had Kung Pao Chicken. It was just O.K. I have eaten at this restaurant many, many times and this was the first disappointing meal. I will attribute that to all the mess the power outages caused. I will definitely go back.

The waitress didn't bring any water. She basically plunked down the plates for us but that was it. When she wasn't plopping down the plates she sat back and played around with her phone. The food was boring and definitely not worth the money. I can make better Kung Pao at home. You will wish you didn't go there in the end.

We were supposed to meet with family in Rocklin when they cancelled due to sickness but we were set to eat out. We had read pros and cons about this restaurant but i can only say it was extremely good. They are open 7 days a week and honor the lunch menu everyday until 3 PM. My husband had Mongolian Beef, I had Szechuan Chicken with vegetables. The lunch comes with soup, choice of hot and sour (delicious) or egg flower. It also comes with your choice of steamed or fried rice. Each plate comes with a cheese stuffed won ton and an egg roll. Dipping sauce on the side. Our waitress was excellent, So our lunch including a glass of wine each was $25.00! I am amazed at reviews that said this place is too expensive! The food was delish and we ended up taking enough home for dinner that night. Will definitely go back.

Had heard good things about the restaurant and decided to get takeout. We both didn't finish our meals. Maybe others will find it to their taste, but we didn't care for the food at all.

This is a small, family owned restaurant with delicious food, friendly service and reasonable prices. The interior is notable, because the walls are covered with art by local artists and have something to interest everyone. We usually get take out, but I always check out the art and have bought some lovely paintings for my home.

I had a very good meal but was surprised at the prices. I think it is just a California thing. I am used to Oregon prices and this was about double. I did enjoy the meal though and the selection was fine.

Stopped in on the way down from Tahoe- great pot stickers (8/per serving!), very good, not over cooked, broccoli, solid chow mein and fried rice. Our server was super nice and everyone was speaking Chinese- a good sign in my book. Not over priced either.

I eat here occasionally when doing my laundry next door. So I order my food before putting my clothes in and then come back just in time for the arrival of my food, The pot stickers are a meal in themselves and are fantastic. However everything I have tried seems to be excellent. Friendly and personal service from the owner, Diane.

This restaurant never disappoints. You get exactly what you order. I love there Szechuan beef and sweet and sour chicken. The people that operate the restaurant are always happy to see you.

The food is excellent. Mandarin Beef, Hot and Sour Suop, and General's Chicken are my favorite. The owner, "Little Non" is a sweetheart, and aims to please. We do takeout about once a week. Alas, the décor is a little shopworn, and I would not go here for a "dining experience." But if you are hungry for Chineese and are not trying to put on the Ritz, you can't go wrong.

I owe this place an apology. I ate here about 6 years ago, didn't care for the entree and have been putting it down since that time. They survived despite my evil tongue. Recently I heard good recommendations for their food so I came back.
I had lunch there a month ago and again last weekend. I'm impressed, very competent Chinese food. I started both meals with Hot & Sour Soup, it's very good with all the things that are supposed to be there. A very full bowl with lots of ingredients.
Chicken Curry last month, Orange Chicken this month. both flavorful and well prepared. Rice or an option of Chow Mein for an additional $1 round out the lunch plate along with a Cheese Wonton & Egg Roll. Filling & tasty. All this for under $9.00 on the lunch special.
On the dinner menu there are a few Dinner Combination plates for under $12 which alleviates the problem of having a varied meal when dining alone. Not having to eat just one thing or having a lot of leftovers to take home after dinner is appreciated when dining alone.
The restaurant is just a couple of doors down from Raley's at the Foresthill Exit, right next to the freeway the location should appeal to the passing motorist as well as the shopping locals.
I wondered if the place had changed hands since I first visited and asked how long the current owners had been there. I was told 18 years. They sure must have been doing something right to have lasted that long. Looks like my early visit was just an off day for me, the restaurant seems to be doing just fine.

We live in Meadow Vista which is about 12 minutes from Szechuan Restaurant. We keep their menu at home. We can call in an order, hang up the phone, get in the car, and the order will be ready when we get there. I like the Walnut Prawns and the Pot Stickers is a generous order of 8. We haven't had a dish we didn't like. Always a reliable choice. We've also eaten in a couple of times and service is also great, as expected.
