My husband and I stopped here on our way to Reno. So, glad that we did. We thoroughly enjoyed the PU240 imperial ipa. Very good! We ate the meatloaf sliders, and the artichoke beer cheese dip. Both are excellent. We didn't want to have a lot of food due to traveling and this was perfect. The burgers, tri-tip, and rueben... More

We live nearby and try different eateries all the time. The Alehouse has been consistently excellent and we have always enjoyed good, friendly service.

This place is very popular with the local crowd, as well as travelers heading up or down the mountain. On the weekend, be prepared to wait for a table. They don't take reservations unless you have a big group. The food is good, the service is okay, and there is a great choice of brews and ciders. It's really noisy... More

Great vibe and very good food made me wanna try multiple variety's of the many Ales they have. They do have big t.v.s, and a cool bar, but this is not your average sports bar. Seeing the Brewing devices and knowing this is a brew-house inspires careful selection of what sounds best, cause everything sounds good. GREAT service! We were... More

Stopped at the Auburn Alehouse after a day of hiking, nothing like a cold beer after a great hike. However, the beer at the Alehouse far exceeded our expectations! After sampling a few of their craft brews, we both decided on the Fool's Gold Ale. This packed a punch and really stood out because it had such deep flavor, yet... More

We stopped here for dinner on a road trip without any expectations about finding a fantastic meal. Wow! From the moment we entered, everything was friendly, inviting, energetic and lively. Then we were seated. Outstanding waitress who made wonderful recommendations. Next time we are in this part of California, this will be a destination trip. Excellent food. Huge portions. If... More

The first time we visited with another couple, all four meals were very good. The last visit with family, only two of the seven meals were good. I will probably not be back.

Description
Brian & Lisa Ford opened Auburn Alehouse Brewery & Restaurant in 2007 in the iconic Shanghai Restaurant, embracing the building's character and colorful history in the heart of Historic Auburn. While enjoying their full bistro menu, patrons can often see Brian & his brewers making world-class beer in small batches, using only the finest malted barley and American-grown hops. With a collection of prestigious awards hanging on the wall it's easy to see why the SacBee recently said Auburn Alehouse is one of the region's premier craft breweries. Favorites include the Gold Digger IPA (CA State Fair Gold Medal Winner), Gold Country Pilsner (GABF Gold Medal Winner), Hop Donkey (GABF Silver Medal Winner) and PU240 IPA! Lunch and Dinner are served every day, while our Brunch menu is served on Saturday and Sunday from 9am-noon. Don't forget we have a dog friendly patio!
