A bit pricey, but worth it! Got their at 6 on a Tuesday night. No reservations, but were seated immediately. By 6:15, place was full. Twelve tables, so make reservations. Duck confit and Roquefort filet: excellent! Perfectly cooked. Also had scallop appetizer: excellent! The only reason not giving 5 stars is the pricing.

Be sure to make reservations! This is a true treasure in Arcata, CA. They are now open for lunch. Fresh food, daily delicious specials, and some of the best gourmet pizzas in the area.

This is a funny one. My husband and I travel back and forth from Washington State to California every year. We always stop in Arcata for the night and always know we will get a great meal at Folie Douce. Having said that, we seldom see anything on the menu that just jumps out at us. But once we settle... This was an extraordinary experience from beginning to end! The oysters were out of this world, the halibut was the best I've had in a long time. It was great to chat with Cris when she had the time...watching the cooks prepare the food was better than any food network channel. Do ont miss this experience if you are in... More

After driving around twice we found this gem of a restaurant. Super busy place with a very interesting menu and wine list. Staff was friendly and fun with great recommendations. Hard to find as they have almost no signage. Well worth the search.

We ended up waiting quite a long time despite a reservation and one steak was overcooked, sent back and we waited, but otherwise I thought this was really good. I had roast boar ribs which were incredible. The polenta was a bit dry, but otherwise the appies were great, ceviche, and wine list quite nice. Really competent kitchen and the... More

They are already well known for their dinners, but they have a lunch menu that is easy to order and sit down to enjoy that is of the same incredible quality of their dinner menu. Love their salads and soups!

Several years ago, I thought this was the best restaurant in Arcata as the quality and overall experience was always amazing. However, my last couple of visits have left me not quite as satisfied as previously. While the overall experience is generally very good, some menu items have been just good and not anything special (not meeting my expectations, especially... More

Made a reservation for 6 people here. Staff are friendly and helpful, noise level not too bad, and portions generous, but we were disappointed with the quality of the food. At what I consider premium prices ($38 for leg of lamb, this is not the RITZ!), we expect GREAT food, not bland food. We do appreciate the local sourcing, but... More
