The shanghai dumplings were just OK. But expensive and portions were small. They have open kitchen that customer treated as entertainment or part of dinning experience . That's what I would called Good Marketing. The service was also average. At least the place was clean and has modern simple decoration. Don't mind pay more for any food,if they have better... More

At times you have to wait a few minutes but is absolutely worth it. I have never o ordered anything their either my family or our guests have not loved and want to come back. Simply put it I s just an amazing restaurant. As an example they tripled the size of restaurant and are still attracting tons of customers... More

My son lived in Brooklyn NY for 3.5 years and one of our favorite things to do was take the subway into Chinatown and eat Dim sum. You could eat there for about $20 and be bursting at the seams and it would be delicious. The variety with the many different carts coming to the table and sampling a little... More

The food served by this restaurant is fine but not exceptional . Portions are tiny and price is very high. You can see the kitchen thru the glass. Most cooks behind the glass are Mexican. Service is excellent.

It's ok. Not My favorite place for dumplings and shiao lon bao because the skin is too thin for my taste. Flavor isn't all that special either. I much prefer the shiao lon bao at shiao mai....the skin is thicker and it's super juicy in the center and full of flavor.....yummy!

Din Tai is a franchise from Taiwan. Their dim sum and noodles are famous in Taiwan, Cathay Pacific Business class and in the U.S. Tasty but a bit expensive as dim sums go. We visited the Din Tai in Taipei 101 but were not in the mood to eat dim sum or noodles for dinner. Not much else was on... More

Din Tai Fung, part of a Taiwanese chain of clean, modern, precise dumpling houses, is rightly considered the gold standard of dumpling houses. The various dumpling and noodle dishes are perfect. In fact, almost too perfect. The decor and the food are so clean, stark, and hard-edged as to be sterile, and lacking in much soul - a feeling underscored... More

So I want to preface this review by saying that I really enjoyed DTF. I love the thinness of the skin on the bao and everything is very flavorful. That being said, I had heard so much wonderful things about this place, that this is one of those situations that the hype bumped up my expectations too much. We had... More

We spent a week in LA, and Din Tai Fung was by far the best food experience we had. Would recommend this to anyone. Very family friendly, and friendly wait staff. We had a blast and can't wait to experience it again.

The place is super busy and you have to wait for an hour to get your table and then your food. The food clearly more than compensates for the wait: the cucumber salad is excellent and spicy. The cabbage with garlic just perfectly made from a taste and texture perspective. And the dumplings...just the best I've ever had. If you... More
