Went recently here. Apart from Ambiance nothing was good.Food Quality and taste was poor. Do not order veggie platter as quantity was less and felt like it was left-overs..Nothing like indian food..All curries tasted like it made up with tomato sauce i.e. ketchup.. Non-veg was...the worst in full course we ordered as it was uncooked some big uncut meat chunks.. 1 star is for naan which was good and freshly made. I am waving Goodbye to this place.Overall a very poor and mediocre place.More

Our dinner had a nice variety of flavors. We ordered the crab cakes (husband loved, I thought we’re ok...little dry inside, not much flavor), spinach dal soup (good not great...way too watery), trio of samosas (good but over priced for the size), lamb kebab trio...(good, deep flavors), tandoori prawns (ok, way too much sauce), garlic naan (good), and saffron rice (excellent). I liked the ease of parking and not having it in a busy shopping center.More

In times of Corona it’s all about containers and bags rather than nicely plated dishes but - hey - some hard-working people keep feeding us and isn’t that a treat!? 😁 Support your local places, grab a bite and go on a little culinary trip....If you have to stay at home, at least send your pallet traveling... 🍽😅😁More

My family love this place, we try to come at least 4 times a year. The naan is perfect, and the service is excellent.

The restaurant itself is quite attractive and quiet, and the aromas of Indian cuisine are ever-present. We did a takeout order which, alas, disappointed. Our milligitawny soups were super heavy on coconut milk instead of the lentil we're accustomed to, and they were bland. The...samosas were fine as were the vegetable dishes, but the breads were weird (uncooked?). We were disappointed, but might have had a better experience if we'd eaten at the restaurant.More

We have been to this restaurant for dinner, but we more frequently go for lunch.....once or twice a month. They provide a wonderful lunch buffet....although you can order from their menu as well. Either way, if you love Indian food you will be happy with...your choices. Always consistently good! Friendly atmosphere, attentive service. The restaurant has another branch in Scotts Valley, which is more recent and larger....and it's also excellent..More

Each time I come in vacation in Aptos, I have a lunch at Ambrosia. The buffet is perfect, please try the Burger chicken: just great. Years and years, I've never been deceived, just super good Indian cuisine ans for a good prince, around 15 $.../ person. All employees are nice, I deeply recommandMore

We've dined at Ambrosia in Monterey and Scotts Valley and enjoyed them a lot. We were disappointed with THIS site on two counts. The service was slow, and other tables ordering after us were served first. Our entrees finally arrived. My Tandoori Shrimp was tasty...but not very spicey. My wife's Tandoori Combo, however, was pretty dry (over-cooked) and not very flavorful (not marinaded long enough?). I tried a few pieces just to verify her complaint. Service took so long initially she decided not to press the issue (in retrospect, she wished she had sent it back). We were seated in the back dining room which was warm and humid. (The glassed-in front window room was also very warm due to the sunny day.) This building is tucked behind a gas station in a grubby small parking lot. We'll visit the other Ambrosias, but not this one.More

Ambrosia India, I cannot remember if I already wrote a review. But, I can say the restaurant has truly reached some high notes lately. Fantastic aromas and flavors, rich and delicious. I highly recommend the chana masala, and the vegetable korma which sounds like it...will be weird, but is delicious, and the samosas are amazing. Check it out!More

There were 4 in our party celebrating a birthday. Pappdums were soggy. Restaurant almost empty. Some items off menu. Curries arrived quite quicky but obvious they had just been warmed up. The only item freshly cooked was mixed grill. Service spotty. Obviously wanted to leave...almost asked us to hurry up. Very disappointing. We had takeaway a few weeks prior and that was good. Will not go backMore

I love this place. The food is excellent, and the variety of items, as well as the ability to specify how spicy (or not) a dish is when you order is a plus for a party with different tastes. I also like that I can...order online and stop by and pick up my meal for take out.More

The restaurant has plenty of seats; some have window seats so you can look at the Union 76 gas station. My friend order lemonade and I ordered iced tea. What came were two lemonades That was fixed. The lunch was a buffet style so you...get up , grab a dish and serve yourself. there was wide range of food choices and they were quite tasty buy my tandoori chicken was undercooked so there were red blood as I cut into the chicken. I got a bad stomach ache after eating here but I cannot say for sure I can blame the restaurant.More

Oh my gosh we were so glad that our regular Indian food restaurant was closed today and we happened upon this gem through Google. About 10 minutes from Santa Cruz nestled in Seascape this lovely restaurant had a wonderful weekend buffet. We got there as...they opened so of course everything was fresh and hot. Sizzling vegetables, tandoori chicken, lentil soup and much more. I had a Mamosa and my husband had ice tea, the staff was attentive In the price were certainly right.More

I’m sorry to say that this was a very poor meal indeed. I ordered the non-vegetarian feast and my companion the lamb saag. The word that best sums up the cooking was ‘lazy’. The samosa starter was a bought in, pre-made apology for the real...thing and the three different types of bread were cold, dry, tough, tasteless and indistinguishable from one another. My platter of chicken and sausage was dry and tasteless - no hint of seasoning on the bland chicken breast. The only dish to pass muster was the butter chicken, but even this was too sugary sweet for my palate. There was a paneer curry dish which was also thin and lacked any depth of flavour. As a visitor from the UK, where Indian food is widespread and generally excellent, maybe my expectations were too high. I can only say that if this had been my first exposure to Indian cuisine I wouldn’t have been looking forward to the next... I did make my views plain to the staff and they reduced our $50 by $7.More
