Doing the great West Coast/California drive & a trip of a lifetime. Our first stop out from Sacramento was this astoundingly quaint small town called "Amador City". We stopped here for lunch...but every single shop, eaterie etc was closed. This is just a "weekend town". We even went into the Inperial Hotel, complete with spittoon at the bar to ask... More

On a wine getaway weekend we stayed at the hotel and enjoyed dinner at the restaurant. Very historical area. I would definitely stay again.

Just a charming, quaint (and I mean quaint) hotel nestled at the bottom of Amador City. We have not stayed here so I can not comment on that but we have eaten here for many years when we visit gold country. We have NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED with the delicious food, friendly service and lovely atmosphere. Also, they have a picture... More

We had reservations and were greeted warmly and taken to our table. When I complained that my chair was a bit low for me, my server immediately dashed off to get me two cushions to help rectify this. Problem solved! They did not try to rush us and gave us good descriptions of what the dishes were like, and naturally,... More

This was a surprise find; nice old hotel with very good food. The lamb chops wre perfectly trimmed and cooked, The steelhead trout cooked to perfection, the garlic mashed potatoes are heavenly. Totally unexpected in this quint little place. Congratulation to the Chefs ( there are two of them) I would definitely make a detour to there again. Try it!!

We arrived on a Saturday night with no reservation. There were only a few tables with guests and we were led to a table for two. The menu had a nice variety of foods and we chose the steak. Since we were not that hungry, we didn't order "extras" due to a very late lunch. The steak was served with... More

I've lived in Rancho Murieta for 20 years and have made a trip to the Imperial on my birthday an annual tradition. I've seen a number of changes in ownership, but the food has almost always been of reliably good quality. The Imperial Hotel has lovely, wine country ambiance as well as an historical Gold Country pedigree to give diners... More

I have been to the Imperial Hotel on numerous occasions, weddings, lunch break on wine tasting days, and a romantic dinner. I was never disappointed. The food is always exquisite and service is exceptional. This little restaurant (with a great bar) is worth the trip. Spending the night after a romantic dinner is a real treat as well.

We stayed here for 1 night. It is just beautiful and the small town Amador is so cute and takes you back in time. Rooms are large and with private bath rooms. So if you want to try to live in an old house from the gold rush but with today's comfort than this is an excellent choice. The staff... More
