Friend suggested meeting here for dinner; Everything was good - Pad Thai, eggplant, fish curry and a thai beer. Service was fast and friendly.

We’ve gotten take out and eaten in here. Both times were not disappointed. Pad Thai is really good so was the Pad Se-ew. Perfectly sauced and seasoned. We also liked the Tom ka ga. Plenty of lemongrass for those who like it. Eating in, it comes in a fun warmer. There’s a bar while you wait for your take out. Plentiful easily accessible parking. Only complaint: why not put pad Thai on your lunch specials menu?! Highly recommend.

I've been coming to this place for several years now and the service and food has always been consistently good. We stopped by for a late dinner on a Friday night and it wasn't crowded. I always order my favorite dish Pad Thai Chicken and Spicy fried rice for the two of us. There was a heap of food that was brought to our table and my friend and I could hardly finish it especially that our mouths were on fire from the spiciness. The Thai Tea and ice water helped cool down our mouths - good times.

This restaurant used to be one of my favorites when visiting LA. this time it was really dissapointing. There were only one waiter attending the restaurant, she was serving and also charging... in a Saturday night! still, the food arrived in a decent time... the thing is that the food has nothing to do with what used to be. The curry, like coulored water, the coconut shirmp soup no flavor at all, the bbq ribs and the hot tea, cold... the only OK was the steam rice and the fried rice...

Extensive menu with a lot of the usual Thai cuisine, with lots of consideration for vegetarian modifications. (But be explicit: some dishes like the papaya salad will come with dried shrimp unless you specify what you want and don’t want in every dish.) Service sizes are very generous for the prices and service is fast.

I like the food here. However, when I found out they used MSG in the food (because it made me dizzy and thirsty), I did not go back any more. I will go back if they don't use MSG in the food.

My brother and I were exploring Alhambra and decided it was time to for lunch. We drove around downtown and decided upon Thai Purple. There was plenty of parking spaces; However most of the meter spaces were for 30-45 minute and we thought it was too short a time for lunch. We parked and walked to this restaurant from the back. It was a quiet place, all decorated with Thai statues, flowers and oriental pictures. There was a row of booths and then open tables and chairs. We opt for booth instead. It was Tuesday and there was a lunch box special for about $8 with drinks. Anything else would be add on. For example, fried rice with egg would be two dollars more. We submitted our order. It came quickly like the Japanese Bento lunch box. The fried fish and steak orders were just right. We were satisfied with the food and good service. The place open from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, from Sunday to Thursday. Thai Purple is located on 27 North Garfield Avenue, in downtown Alhambra, California (626) 300-9083. If one is ever in this part of town, drop by Thai Purple. Cant go wrong and the price is right too!

Was there for lunch and the Thai artifacts and decoration was really great. The set lunch choices are very good. More than enough food, soup and drink.

The food here is really good! We had the pad Thai and it was so delicious. The spring rolls were different, not to our liking. They had shrimp in them and were very large spring rolls. Our biggest gripe of this restaurant where the televisions that were all over the small dining room. They were loud and huge and the news was on, which was extremely devastating and sad. The restaurant would be quite quaint if it weren't for those TVs. We would go back, but we would not dine in.

When first arriving to restaurant was not greeted right away. Only two tables were occupied. Two waiters with ear buds were standing ar the counter next to kithen. A table was pointed to me that was empty. Had to ask waiter to clean table when he brought the menu. After reading reviews, I decided to try the Tuesday special, Pad Thai and was disappointed. The noodles were mushy, very sweet, chicken pieces of low quality, and shrimp was not fresh. Only thing fresh was the green onions. Ordered the yellow curry and it tasted like chemicals had been added. Could hardly tasted the curry or coconut milk and spicy. I had asked for spicy. I added condiments hoping to improve the taste but unsuccessful. There was more soup than contents. Ordered Jasmine tea which is made with loose tea. Noone asked if I needed more water. Had to wait quite awhile for check. Pad Thai not 3.99, is now 4.99, not worth it. Curry was about 8.00. Could't eat much of the food so took leftovers home for my dog. I hadn't been to this restaurant for about 5 years when my grown daughter brought me. Food was better then. I will not go back again. Just was convenient because I was in the area. I will stick with my regular Thai places in Eagle Rock, Pasadena, Highland Park, Wilshire area.

I took my daughter here for lunch. The food is good. The wait staff was not very attentive. We had the lunch special that allows you to choose an appetizer, an entree, and comes with soup, salad, rice and a drink. $1 extra for white meat chicken. $1.50 extra for brown or fried rice. Also, we ordered a separate order of pot stickers. All the food was good and the atmosphere was good. The waiter was a little slow, but overall, everything is good. I'll go back for lunch.
