From a really spoiled Italian, I can really say that in this restaurant they make one of the best homemade pasta I've ever taste. Nice atmosphere and very efficient service. Rudy is a super host. Really recommended!

Going out to a restaurant on Thanksgiving was a First for us, but we could not have picked a better place to enjoy wonderful food and service. This is our special 'go to' place for other occasions, and now it may be in line for next year too!!!

Nestled in an alleyway (off Park Street), this vine covered patio entrance leads you into a really charming restaurant by Park Street standards. The owner met us and was very fun and informative. We had beautiful seating and great service from Gina. I had ravioli and salmon combo plate and my date had sea bass...bella! The wine choice was good and we left thinking about when we could return with friends....

We booked the balcony area for a private party of 16 people. Cheryl, Gabriele and the staff at C'era una volta took great care of us. We were not wanting for anything. Prior to our event we chose the menu and it was all very delicious. The staff paced the meal to our time frame. If you are looking for a place to have a celebration, check out C'era Una Volta. And, with uber and lyft, there is no need to worry about parking!

Used to live in Alameda and loved coming here for special occasions—never disappointed. It’s been 12 years since our last visit, and it hasn’t missed a beat. From the authentic Caesar to perfect risotto, we loved it. The gluten free bow tie pasta was so cool! Our girls ate it up—they don’t always like the g-free pasta at every restaurant, so that’s saying something. Thanks for another great memory—and don’t you dare change the silverware! Such a creative, whimsical touch to an already unique dining experience.

A bit difficult to find a parking space. The service was ok, but not great. The food was good, but not great. Rather medium to small portions. Cosy place!

this lovely restaurant accommodated 15 of us (two adjoining tables) and provided a feast for an arranged tab of $50 per person, which covered two apps, salad, entrees, and a cake cutting fee. Buratta was fresh and tasty, and the second app was a hearty serving of salami, cheese, olives, and more. Caesar salad was whole romaine hearts with optional anchovies, and lots of asparagus served as a side to salmon or pasta entrees. Corkage was reasonable, and good live music was performed that Sunday evening. I'd go back in a heartbeat...

We had a late dinner here the other night. The patio looks lovely but it was a crisp evening so we ate indoors. Only a few tables were occupied. The decor is pleasant with excellent paintings of the Tuscany hills. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. We shared a salad, the eggplant parmigiana, and a slice of cake for dessert. While not cheap, we enjoyed every dish as well as the location and setting. We will return.

Authentic, Italian food in a comfortable setting. If you like steak, the Bistecca Fiorentina for two was delicious. It is a 32 oz. Thick Cut Rib Eye with Mushrooms, with Rosemary Roasted Potatoes & Vegetable Medley.

Authentic, delicious Italian food served in very pleasant surroundings with professional yet friendly staff. Our party of 6 (with 2 young children) were made extremely welcome and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

The menu is great; the service is great; the tables and ambiance is good; the wine is excellent; the food presentation is excellent but my filet called "Filetto al Pepe Verde" was average. It was accompanied with "Gorgonzola Cream Sauce, Green Peppercorns, Mashed Potatoes". The cream sauce, I think, sort of destroyed the filet. The mashed potatoes were good. So, all in all I would have given the restaurant 3, maybe 4 stars. However, when I received the bill, there was an unidentified surprise charge for $3. When I asked the waiter what it was for, he said it was for the bread! Well, the bread was a dozen thin pieces of sourdough about 2 inches in diameter for each piece. (The bread was tasty with the oil and mustard sauce.) Now, I am looking on-line as I write this and their menu states, "Your 1st Bread Basket is complimentary. Refills are just $1 for every 2 slices" and there is no mention on the menu at the restaurant of any charge for any bread. During the dinner, when asked, the waiter stated that the management just started charging for bread a few weeks ago. He also stated that he would tell the management about the concern, but did not offer to take it off the bill! Although annoying, I did not reduce the appropriate tip but did mention that I felt the charge was without class, and felt compelled to write this review.

Make sure that you try and get the small table that is recessed in to the wall in the main dining room. Very romantic. The food selection is great with great service. I have never had a bad meal here and love the food. Great wine selection too!

Great service food and wine. Tucked down a brick lined alley with vine covered pergolas the outside patio seating is lovely.
