With some of our favorites no longer in business and the decline of others, Xing Yuan may be just about the best option for Chinese delivery....never mind the argument about authentic or "American Chinese"... it is clearly just that- a perfect restaurant for the American...palate. The authentic restaurants don't seem to have delivery (but you can pick up). Here, I loved the spicy eggplant, mu shu, etc., all the standards are worth giving this restaurant a shot!More

We ordered egg rolls and chicken fried rice from Xing Yuan. This was the best Chinese we ever had. We had requested soy sauce and hot mustard sauce; however, the flavor of the egg rolls and chicken fried rice did not need any sauce. This...meal was very affordable and so delicious!More

Xing Yuan Chinese Restaurant. One of the hidden jewels of Alameda and the Bay Area as a whole... My story begins with my wife getting a job in Alameda. Every week, schedules permitting, I drive over to Alameda from Emeryville and take my wife out...to lunch. There are other restaurants in the little shopping area, which are good, but I swear to God almighty, Xing Yuan is the fastest place I have ever been to in my entire life. Not even McDonalds can match their speed. If you went to a 7-11 and wanted a sandwich from the pre-made food shelf, you could not reach and grab that sandwich faster than the folks at Xing Yuan could have fresh-made food ready for you. They are incredible. I have never been there for dinner, but as far as meeting the needs of the niche lunch-break customers, people who need to eat and get out quick, they are TOP. When I first went, their no B.S. customer service and speed caught me off guard and I thought it was a bad thing, but now I have come to respect and appreciate it. Lunch specials are great, well-priced, and well-portioned.More

Open for lunch and dinner, this was our 3rd time, the portions were good size with the lunch plate option. more than enough to fill you up. It is very small, but the table turnover is fairly quick. I had the Kung Pao Chicken with...rice could use a little more sauce but tasty. We also ordered the Chow Fun, which we found a little greasy, but still delicious. Liked the bowl of soup as soon as you sit down.More

Nothing fancy, but this was one of my favorite delivery meals at the end of a long day. Consistently great quality and quantity. Don't be put off by the low key ambiance - your tummy with thank you.

Discovered this place via tripadvisor, so glad we did! If you can tolerate a little bit of heat don't be turned away by the reviews talking about the typical Szech. heat. I ordered a "flaming" dish from their menu and it really wasn't so hot....Very casual decor but patrons are definitely "smart casually" dressed. Must-do in China Town.More

This is your typical Chinese-American restaurant with fried rice, white rice, and all the usual suspects on the menu. Great deal for a lunch plate and you will leave full.

Fancy? No. Good? Yes. Deliver? Yes. They are friendly. Food is good basic Chinese. We love it. There are a few choices in Alameda. We think this is the best for straight up Chinese food.

Small family-run restaurant with varied menu and fresh ingredients. Sauces are clean, crisp and not overpowering. Shrimp was cooked to perfection--tender and moist.
