I eat here several times a year. After reading the other reviews I got tickled about the comments on service, seating, etc. This restaurant is in a strip center and run by a family that loves to cook and is not into high end presentations. If you want the best fried chicken in Alabama come and get it. The vegetables... More

Ate here for lunch with a coworker. I had the fried chicken which was excellent, black eye peas and squash casserole. The peas tasted fresh, but the squash casserole was not my favorite. This is a small down home eatery... Clean...and not overly priced. Definitely will return.

I've only had their catering during several vet school events...but good god, this is delicious! Healthy? Certainly not. Feels like good, southern comfort food!

I was not expecting much... but the food was really good! Named after the owners grandparents and featuring old fashioned SOUTHERN comfort foods served in a buffet. You choose from what they made that day and they make you a plate as you watch. There is a very nice outdoor breezeway with tables and chairs to sit and eat. They... More

This is a consistently good restaurant. It is a cafeteria style Eatery. Excellent southern veggies and fried chicken or meatloaf.

This is down home southern soul food. The fried chicken on Friday is the best ever. Get there early for Friday lunch as the line can get long but it is worth the wait.

Seriously, each dish is basically adding "whatever" to your SALT!!!! I gave this place 4-5 different tries thinking it had to get better. Nothing special about anything in the place. When I moved to the South I thought surely I would have good soul food here. NOT EVEN CLOSE. Just save yourself the time and effort and get soul food... More

Catfish day is on Fridays, and I was fortunate enough to be there. Added a chicken wing because Jesse Palmer talked about it during a football game. Was excellent. Both were non greasy and juicy. Also enjoyed black eyed peas. Got there when the door opened, and the line stayed all the way out the door the entire time I... More
