The food and service at this restaurant are excellent! I have been to Tartufo for both lunch and dinner and I have never been disappointed.

Not quite a new kid on the block, Tartufo shed its former role as a Central American eatery and traveled to the Mediterranean. Service can be slow, but who wants to rush a delicious pasta entree?

My hosts had recommended Tartufo untried (lots of talk among their neighbors about it). so we gave it a try one night when we were at loose ends at our conference. They were terribly apologetic about seating us on their "porch" (closed in sunroom space...that was just fine - not a worry even on very cold days!). I had the veal marsala and we shared a bottle of a Sicilian wine that was a nice surprise. The food was excellent, and the ambiance was charming hole-in-the-wall Italian. As I'd had a lot of not-great Itailian in DC over the years, this place was a pleasant surprise! Good to know about it and I'll be back on one of my future trips.More

There are other neighborhood restaurant near by to bother going here. The food and service are passable and tolerable but you could do better in this area.

We arrived in a very rainy cold night but that didn't keep this small place quiet as people kept coming in after us. The special was bronzini and it was fantastic...cooked just right. The mussels as an appetizer were just as good but the killer...was dessert, this chocolate dish (can't remember the name) was just so rich but not rich-sweet....rich tasting. Coming back when I get a chance....great food and service.More

I ate at Tartfuo last night for the first time. The service and atmosphere was very relaxing. I ordered the eggplant parmiagnia which is one of my favorite dishes. However, I thought the sauce was a little bland and it needed more seasoning. I also...thought $3.75 is a bit high for a cup of coffee.More

Good standard fare. Ok list of wines. Prices are reasonable. A bit drafty when the weather is cold. Waiter don’t know much about wine.

This restaurant has topped our list for the past year. The food is A- and always fresh, and the prices reasonable for NW DC. Dinner for two with wine is $ 60-70, beating similar competition by 10-20%. We love the white tablecloths, the space between...tables that allows us to hear each other talk, and the friendly service. We bring our friends, and it goes on their top 5 lists right away. BarbaraMore

Don't look any further for a restaurant with quality ambiance, classical music (quiet) and good food! We've dined at Tartufo three times and have enjoyed the experience. The pasta, sandwiches, salads, soups, chicken entrees and wine are wonderful. Although we don't live in the neighborhood,...we make it a point to stop for lunch. You'll love the servers, including the modest owner of this lovely restaurant. Enjoy!More

We live nearby, and Tartufo has become a favorite. Love the artichoke ravioli, arugula and shaved-parmesan salads, and of course, the tartufo and tiramisu for dessert. Quiet, easy to talk, with baroque music playing at a soft volume. Well-priced wine list. Staff is friendly and...efficient, under attentive eye of owner/manager Abdi.More
