Reliable, charming, bustling. A warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food is rich; the servings generous to massive. Oysters are their forte. Close to downtown hotels and shopping.

We were a few minutes late for our reservation, but the staff was nice, and sat us as soon as we found the restaurant. The seating was a bit awkward for a date because we were seated in a row of tables for two, and they were quite close to each other. Despite the lack of privacy, the atmosphere was... More

I ate at Acadiana four times in four days--once for dinner and the other three times for Happy Hour. They have an excellent small plates selection, but the fried oysters are superb. For dinner, I had an excellent, crispy catfish that arrived wrapped in a circle. it had great crunch and soft tender fish inside.

We met Washington veterans at the Acadiana for dinner last week. This is one of their favorite places, and we can certainly understand why. It's a lovely restaurant with great service and a wonderful menu. I don't know if it is more properly Cajun of Louisianian. We started with very good cocktails. I had the deviled eggs as an appetizer,... More

Not many good Cajun restaurants in NYC and I'm in D.C. for a conference. Just across from my hotel is Acadiana. This place is classy, very friendly, and the food is as good as I've ever had outside of Cajun country. Great inventive cocktails, incredibly varied and mouth watering menu, and the service staff is like dining a your favorite... More

My wife and I had to postpone a trip to New Orleans for her birthday so I tried to make it up to her by celebrating her birthday at Acadiana. We went with my son and daughter in law as well. I mentioned the birthday when I made the reservation and upon arrival we had special birthday menus at the... More

We came for a brunch and this was out of this world. The crab and corn chowder was so good my mother and I nearly licked the bowls clean. My husband adored his baked oysters (which I am not a fan of, but these were pretty good actually). For entrees, I had the crab cakes which were loaded with crab... More

This was without a doubt the best brunch I have had in DC. My kids, who are foodies agreed. I had the corn and crab soup, eggs Acadiana (poached eggs on crab cakes with hollandaise) and the pecan tart. My son in law had the broiled oysters and shrimp and grits, my daughter had the crab cakes and soup. We... More

I'm a native New Orleanian and have learned it's safest to run away from any type of restaurant that claims to offer Creole, Cajun, or general New Orleans style cuisine. Maybe it's the water, but somehow the most competent chefs seem to botch it up once you leave the city limits. In their defense, maybe it's because their non-New Orleanian... More

After a trip to New Orleans two weeks ago, I couldn't have been happier to find Acadiana. Food as good as the Big Easy just 20 minutes away. The gumbo, the shrimp and grits, the barbecue shrimp... even the biscuits... made this the perfect meal to kick aside my bayou blues. And the whiskey menu was a great surprise. Oh,... More
