We planned dinner here based on other reviews and the fact that we wanted to check out Adams Morgan neighborhood. The neighborhood was eclectic and fun to wander. This restaurant looks unassuming from the outside, but do not be deceived. Inside was small but welcoming. We started with the Pisco Sour which was delicious and just a bit sweet. The... More

Came here for NYE expecting a delicious, special meal and was pretty dissapointed. The dishes missed the mark - too rich, too spicy, too cold, too bland... nothing was AMAZING. PRO: I'd say the best dish a stuffed yucca appetizer. CONS: Pisco sour was about 4 sips for $12. The seafood pasta was WAY too heavy. The complimentary bread they... More

We had a very good dinner at Las Canteras. The service was great and the complimentary bread, butter and very spicy sauce was enjoyed. The bottled beer prices start at $5.00 each. The entree prices were about $18.00 each and the asparagus was a side order. Las Canteras is not an inexpensive place to dine but we enjoyed it.

I discovered the great flavors of Peruvian food too late in life, but I found Las Canteras just in time. Every friend I take there loves it! They are friendly as well...this is a must visit...enjoy!

Our authentic Peruvian dinners were exceptional and the service was outstanding. I had never eaten Peruvian food before but the Lomo Saltado Platter was delicious. Pisco Sour was a nice before dinner specialty. Dessert was Suspire Limena and very enjoyable. Don't be afraid of this adventure-your taste buds will thank you.

For the best cebiches (as spelt in Peru), this the place to be. The marinated tilapia was succulent yet tender, and the yellow pepper sauce in this spicy edition (Cebiche classico o con aji amarillo) was the perfect foil, going well with fava beans and onion slivers. The skewered prawns were good. The Seco de Carne had two big pieces... More

We loved the food (and caipirinhas) at this small restaurant. The cold mussel and Classic cibiche appetizers were outstanding. Cod stew was so tasty, and portions were fine. Make a reservation so you can eat upstairs.

I don't usually review the cocktails, but Las Canteras is special. I have to report that the Pisco drinks are truly excellent and worth trying. We had the experience of several dishes including the Quinotto with shrimp. A dish I love and I have not found it better seasoned anywhere else in the country. The Pruvian sampler platter was beautifully... More

Walking in Adams Morgan on a Sunday afternoon and happened to notice this restaurant. We both like Peruvian food and decided to give it a try. Sunday afternoon and it was a bit slow so no problem getting a table. Dark interior of red with red brick walls. Long and narrow with small tables and a bar. Seated by the... More

As the title suggests, I have no basis for comparison, but I loved my meal at Las Canteras while visiting DC and wanted to post this. To start the meal they bring out a basket of bread with a green dipping sauce that is quite spicy (habanero) and salty; either could be a turnoff for some but I thought it... More
