Great Seafood restaurant with excellent service and an exciting menu. Be mindful that they refer to their appetizers as "starters" cause the portions aren't really sharable. Don't be discouraged though, just order your own like we did. We started off with Buttered Poached Lobster which was delightfully toothsome. Even with all the excitement on the menu we went with the... More

This is an amazing place with a good selection of caviar and oysters. The bouillabaisse was delicious. I would recommend this place for a romantic dinner or a birthday party. So glad I found it.

We have been here many times and never hesitate to return when provided the opportunity. Reservations can be difficult on the weekends but we shoot for a spot in the bar area where the full menu is served. The food is consistently great and the real wood grill is a great addition.

Visited with 3 colleagues for lunch. Excellent service , excellent menu and excellent value. The chef was also flexible to some special dietary needs. Will return again and again.

This restaurant is amazing. It's in a great residential area near Georgetown University. I wish I lived closer - I'd go all the time!! It's a great place. My partner and I came here for our anniversary. He'd been here over Christmas time and I'd been hearing great things about it for years, so I decided to come. Overall, it... More

Blacksalt has consistently for the last several years turned out wonderful dishes, most of them having fish as the main ingredient, but other choices for those who are not fish lovers (such as my wife). Waiters are attentive. The front part of the restaurant is a fish market where top cuts are served.

BlackSalt is our favorite seafood restaurant in the DC area and one of the best. The quality and freshness of the fish and seafood is remarkable. We enjoy both the happy hour and the main restaurant menus. We went yesterday evening and we had oysters, both raw and fried and I had the fish n' chips. This last one was... More

I usually go here on the early side around 5-7 pm for the unbelievable happy hour menu. I go to the bar and sit on bar stools even though they have front booth and rear table seating. Recently they have found bar staff that seems happy to serve you. The food is always great and very reasonably priced during happy... More

Great bargain and a perfect place for an early dinner of "small plates" especially if you arrive exactly at 4 to snag a booth in the bar (where the bargain prices are.) The fish market is at the front of rhe house and the restaurant is in the back, but the sweet spot, and the bargains from 4 to 6,... More

This is the kind of place you would go once a week if it were closer to home. Impressive fish restaurant and a little pricey, but worth it! Some of the best Belon oysters I have had in a long time. Also delicious crab cake and rockfish.
