Not sure why this place isn’t swamped aside from the fact that it’s tucked away a little, in between the Kennedy Center and the Watergate complex. Had the chicken pancetta panini which was SO good. The fresh arugula and herbs sparkled. Will be back to...More

Good food choices from pizzas to salads to sandwiches, and even gelato. Reasonable priced, with good seating inside and outside, and food is prepared quickly and was quite tasty (tuna melt in this instance).

While gallivanting about DC, we opted to have lunch here. The layout and style of the interior reminded me of a European cafe. Here the menu is on the board, you pass in a line and make your choices. The food is fresh and the...More

I was poised to hate Campono, since they took over this lovely coffee shop, Cupa Cupa. After the initial resentment, I tried it and now I'm thrilled they are there. The restaurant is small, sure, and you have to order at the counter, but wow,...More

Really good pizza with brilliant friendly service served quickly before a show at the Kennedy centre. The gelato was even better.

I had a Caesar salad. It had several extra components- no idea what they were. The chicken was too spicy, only one crouton and some kind of toast ring on top. No ice for water. Please check your salad recipe and eliminate whatever the white...More

Dear Calliope, I am sorry you were dissatisfied with your salad at Campono. As per the menu descriptions (posted below), the "white stringy things" were julienne fennel and the "toast ring" was a bagel chip. As always we are more than happy (where possible), to...More

This was the closest place we found to eat besides the fancy restaurant in The Watergate (where we stayed). Great place for lunch. The food we had was delicious- margarita pizza and the blue plate beef and broccoli. The seating is communal, so that interesting....More

Stopped here for quick bite before seeing a play at the nearby Kennedy Center. Wonderful service and clean atmosphere. Ordered a margarita pizza, garlic bread, and watermelon feta salad. The salad was so yummy.. would go back just to get that. Definitely recommend to those...More

When this place opened up it had on-site management and cooks that really cared. Now it's terrible. The food has declined. The service is impersonal. And the hours are all set around Kennedy Center. Think you can go there for a leisurely weekend coffee? Forget...More

The place is small. You do a lot of stuff yourselves: pay at the cashier, get your glass and plates and find a table. Finding a table is a challenge during rush hour. The pizza and salads were great. The dough was smooth and well...More
