Wow. With cookies as big as your head and some very lovely ladies providing excellent service with a smile we thank you Firehook bakery for salvaging our evening after a less than satisfactory meal experience somewhere else! Thanks! Banana creme tart was fabulous!

Stopped in for a quick lunch and got the turkey panini and it was very good. There is a large Display case full of cookies and brownies and cakes and tarts, as well as a refrigerator case with yogurt and salads. There are also a lot of prepackaged baked goods such as crackers and cookies and loaves of bread for... More

Husband and I went on an early morning breakfast date while we were on vacation. We were in search of a different restaurant when we came across this little gem. Pastries fresh and coffee hot. We watched several people, obviously regulars, walk in and out in just a few minutes with their morning goodies and coffee. Wish we would have... More

I had a few minutes before a meeting and wanted a little breakfast and came across this bakery. I thought why not, I would prefer to experience a local business rather than a national chain. Charming place with very reasonable prices. I had the almond croissant and it was delicious, flakey, not very sweet and very fresh. Perfect. There was... More

We used to live nearby and were frequent visitors. Stopped by on a visit to DC for a quick lunch. So glad to report that my experience was at a high, and tasty, level. Their tuna salad with green onion, celery, and lemon juice was superb in its simplicity - not too much mayo. Orzo pasta salad with feta, bell... More

Since discovering the Firehook Bakery, I make it a point to always stop here during my annual visit to DC. They make the absolute best brownies I've ever tasted, their pastries are out of this world, and their ham and cheese croissants are so-o-o yummy! Do yourself a favor and stop by one of their locations.

As if one bakery wasn't enough for me (The Cakeroom), I had to go to this one on the same day. Blame it on me not being a DC local hahaha I didn't hate the bakery, but wasn't impressed either. I was here around 4 pm on a weekday. The staff was friendly. Even though pretty spacious, it seemed like... More

We literally stumbled upon this very small bakery and coffee shop today and crammed in for lunch of panini and soup. The staff was very nice although I would suggest saying yes to getting your receipt as they are quite busy and again small. The panini sandwiches are quite large and enough for two to share. Also ordered a lemon... More
