There is a service in D.C. that delivers from a number of restaurants. We happily discovered that Central is one of them. So we ordered their fabulous fried chicken both white and dark meat. The white meat is pressed flat and has a bit of spiciness in the coating. Excellent!! The dark has a bone, is shaped like a ball... More

A dinner menu that truly reflects a French bistro and an execution to match...excellent starters ... faux (yes, chicken) gras, watermelon/tomato/burrata salad and tuna carpaccio, which not only was excellent but was beautifully displayed, as were the others. For mains, the signature fried chicken was good, but not as great as touted perhaps, but the fish special, durado was excellent.... More

After seeing another review, I had to try the French Onion Soup. It was amazing! My son ordered the scallops and loved them. The fried chicken was a southern favorite and delicious hit with my husband. You really can't go wrong here! Well... We didn't like the cheese puffs... At all! Order a different appetizer!

We decided to come here because of all the reviews and pictures. We weren't disappointed! They delivered fresh bread to the table shortly after we ordered. We ordered the cheese puffs, but should have passed on that as it was just more bread. The Fried Chicken with mash potatoes was amazing. You get a piece of dark and white meat... More

There are many wonderful restaurants in Washington DC… Central is one of them! Central is described as a modern American bistro with a French twist, and that it is. The food is both reflective of both American and French cuisine. To make it even better, Michael Richard is a James Beard Award winner. The atmosphere was American bistro with booths... More

Our 10 and 12 year old daughters have eaten at fine dining restaurants all over North America and in Europe. We wanted a nice meal for last night of vacation so chose Central as we could walk from Willard hotel. They weren't overly welcome here. There is nothing for kids outside the main menu. So a high end burger and... More

Michel Richard is a legendary chef so I was excited to finally try Central on this business trip. It was easy to get a reservation since we went very early. The gougères were very good, though some were more cheesy than others. The watermelon salad with radishes and ricotta was refreshing and nice on a hot humid day. The lobster... More

Visited there with friends who've worked in DC for years and they always know the "hot" places to go. To be sure, it was packed which always makes getting the correct gluten free food more risky than I like. The chef understood quite well but the wait staff could have been better educated and more tolerant for my tastes. The... More

Went with my son; it was the first time for each of us. We recommend 'Central' very, very highly. Both the food and the service were excellent! For the appetizer, we enjoyed the Tuna Tartare. For our main course, we shared a side of beef (32 oz). It was cooked to perfection, was tasty, with a choice of three sauces.... More
