I visited Mr. Smith's pub for a drink and some food. It's known as the friendliest restaurant in Georgetown and I must say it did not disappoint. Our Server and bartender Tommy was great. He was truly extremely friendly, funny, and very hospitable. Food and drinks were great. Give it a try and ask Tommy to show you his RV... More

Mr Smith's is a pub located "under" the highway on K St down the hill from the much busier M St. There is a good sized bar on the first floor and a smaller bar upstairs. They have seating for dining on both floors. A pianist comes in many nights of the week. Happy Hour runs from 4-7 and offers... More

We had a family dinner here because my husband is pub-obsessed. It definitely has a great pub-like atmosphere. The building is classic, wood everywhere. The food has a nice variety. I had the fish and chips which was pretty standard. For Georgetown, the prices are really good and it wasn't crowded so we got a seat immediately. It has a... More

Review is for drinks and service only. First time at Mr. Smith's and I would come back again to try the food. Drink prices were good compared to other Georgetown locations. The place itself is by no means upscale but instead laid back. If you looking for somewhere that does not feel stuffy then try here. There is an upstairs... More

At the last minute, we needed to host our wedding after party at Mr. Smiths and they couldn't have been more accommodating! Highly recommend!

Aretha Franklin really sang here early in her career. A classic bar scene Georgetown Joint. Food and drinks ok especially for tourist place. Regulars enjoy place just they way it is. Why change ? Near Four Seasons hotel and La Chaumiere restaurant. A few blocks from Washington Harbour. Nostalgic place for those who want to relive the 70s

Dear RMJ11, You're right, we're a classic Georgetown restaurant, one of the few independent restaurants that are still trying to survive in an area full of corporate and upscale places. I read your review and was surprised by your 3 star rating, especially since you seem to be one of our loyal patrons from M Street. Let me explain, we... More

Went to Georgetown for dinner with no reservations anywhere (I know - stupid - on a Saturday night) All of the restaurants on M Street were PACKED. On a recommendation from TA we went down a sidestreet to the waterfront and found Mr. Smith's of Georgetown. Almost didn't go in - it's a bar - it's decor is early worn... More

We walked down to the waterfront and saw this place to decided to give it a try. It is in an old building facing the water and was very "old town" themed. We were seated upstairs by our waiter. He didn't seem like he was glad we were there. No smile, just the minimum amount of interaction he could get... More

My Wife and I went here for lunch. It's a short walk from the water, down from Kennedy Center. It bills its self as the friendliest Saloon in Town. As you come in the door, to the right is the bar area and to the left in a separate area are tables and booths for lunch. Upstairs are the bathrooms... More

Popped on as my friend thought there was live music, but not last night! So instead we had a drink or two, chatted in a great barbefore moving on again. If we come back to DC this place will be high on the list!
