The Union station building is a work of art! Massive ceiling with magnificent architecture! There are many good food shops downstairs and a Walgreens for your quick travel needs. Looks like the departure area could use some rehab but, they maybe in the process or...at least it looked like it. Union Station is in a great location with the majestic monuments right out the door or even the underground public transport, (which is “right” out the door on the second level if you coming from Amtrak terminals. Really, a nice place to visit and utilize on your journey.More

Fairly good food court but extremely busy. It offers restaurants, cafes and casual dinning. Delicious options to please all palates.

Came here a few times when staying in a hotel nearby. There is a food court where you can pick a fast food place. Variety is always good. We also took a look around inside and felt it was very impressive. Good place if you...like structure and taking pictures with structures.More

Easy to find the eating option you'd prefer, from quick burgers to higher priced fare. Simple place to browse for your options, with restaurants on different levels. Good place if you're staying in a hotel in the area.

We went here as we were sightseeing and to get a bite to eat. There are serious issues in Union Station and we were very concerned about security. It was very busy and Washington has an issue with homeless and panhandlers that has not been...resolved. It appears that any Metro or Transportation outlet brings in people that are rude and just a rough crowd overall. There are also the large groups of loud teens that take up rows and rows of tables and additional chairs in the food court. Most were not even eating just there, it seems like a thing to do. There was no security in sight and people were walking around inside and outside asking for money. We will no return.More

There's so much good stuff to do and eat here. I've eaten at the McDonalds and the Johnny Rockets, and visited the Walgreens twice haha. It's a pretty great place and I love every time we come here because it's got a lot of great...choices and it's all good. Definitely worth coming here, especially if you're leaving through the place, because it's a pretty great place.More

Great eateries at Union Station....just taking a stroll through the shopping mall was a wonderful experience. There are lots of great boutique shops! The atmosphere is a place where you feel comfortable sitting and taking in the views as well.

The Union Station is a hub for transportation (trains and subway), shops, and a food court in the basement. We were there for the food. We were surprised at all the choices as we explored the station. Today, we had chicken and then ice cream....Bojanglas, Chik-Fil-A, and hagen daz .More

Opened in 1908 it’s hard not to be impressed by the stone inscriptions and allegorical sculptures in the Beaux Arts format. In many ways Union Station with its gold leaf and sculptures is more ornate than Grand Central in NYC. Even if you are not...taking the train I recommend a visit here. There are also plenty of quick dining venues and a food court below. There is pretty much something for everyone. The Amtrak area is as you might expect more run down. Outside you will be greeted by a significant homeless population which like to congregate perhaps to enjoy the beauty of the structure. Tip cab lines can be long but the Metro Red line is also attached.More

Interesting place. Bottom floor has a food court. Main area from the entrance is a wide open space. They also have some good high end shops. Lots of activity for people watching. I would not go here in the evening hours as homeless type people...find sleeping arrangements outside in the front area.More

Ask the staff at PRET or the place across the hall. For breakfast I have oatmeal, which is gluten-free.

For security reasons, there are no storage lockers at Union Station. There is a checked baggage room, which charges a daily fee -- I don't know how much. I believe that all items to be left there are x-rayed before storage

It is a 1.6 mile walk on google maps but if like to walk would be nice walk as walk by Capital building and up Nationalmall. The museum is close to Washington monument. Closest is by metro
