I took a group of 10 high school students here. It was amazing. Look, we all ordered different things and if you know teenagers you know that some can be picky. They were super accomodating and helpful, even to my pickiest eaters. The food was excellent - tamales, mole, steak, chicken, El Tradicional, burritos, salads, ... all of it was... More

Lovely place. Great food. I recommend this spot for a family reunion. In my case, because I am from Mexico, it feels like home-made food. I recommend the tortas de pollo 🍗 (they are not in the menu but they will make them for you if you ask!)

As an Arizonan living in DC until 2010, this was my favorite place to go to in the District to get Mexican food that reminded me of home. I recently returned while in town for a work trip and could not have been more disappointed. For starters, I was the only one sitting (expectantly) at the bar for at least... More

I had the pupusas and they were delicious. Very inexpensive restaurant for D.C. Was in DC for a work conference and saw this place one evening. They have an extensive menu of many central American and Mexican cuisine. I will come back next time I am in DC.

Delicious pupusas at a very affordable price! Fun atmosphere (nothing too fancy & very authentic). Wasn't crazy about the tamales. Service was great. Nice outdoor patio.

Nice mix of Mexican and el salvadorian cuisine, late night large group. For a drunken group of miscreants that all requests separate checks, service was amazing. Decent beer, mixed drinks that disappoint for the price. The art on the walls definitely fits the vibe of late night whatever. Fresh shrimp, banging fajitas and decent guacamole, what more does one need... More

Stopped in for lunch on a 100 degree day, and couldn't be happier. A big, fresh, colorful salad bowl -- chicken, avocado, raisins!, tomatoes and cukes - hit the spot. Free parking in their own lot. Warm welcome and good service.

I've been here two times. Both times I was in search of good Mexican food late at night. I went to a nearby restaurant, who were closing up, and they recommended Tamarindo. I had the Fajitas and a couple of Margaritas. The food was delicious and affordable. What added to my positive experience was our friendly waitress, Marisol. She ensured... More

We were recommended the Pupusas, that we found excellent, we also enjoyed the Tamarindo Margaritas. The atmosphere was very friendly and all the servers, specially Diego, were very nice and attentive. We will go back again!

Stopped her for lunch while running errands. I haven't eaten here in an age (restaurant has been around since the early eighties). Salsa and chips were OK. Service was very friendly and fairly attentive. Kudos to the hostess (Friday lunch). I ordered a sangria and it was quite good. I ordered the chicken mole and it was fair. I was... More
