Delicious pupusas at a very affordable price! Fun atmosphere (nothing too fancy & very authentic). Wasn't crazy about the tamales. Service was great. Nice outdoor patio.

Nice mix of Mexican and el salvadorian cuisine, late night large group. For a drunken group of miscreants that all requests separate checks, service was amazing. Decent beer, mixed drinks that disappoint for the price. The art on the walls definitely fits the vibe of late night whatever. Fresh shrimp, banging fajitas and decent guacamole, what more does one need... More

Stopped in for lunch on a 100 degree day, and couldn't be happier. A big, fresh, colorful salad bowl -- chicken, avocado, raisins!, tomatoes and cukes - hit the spot. Free parking in their own lot. Warm welcome and good service.

I've been here two times. Both times I was in search of good Mexican food late at night. I went to a nearby restaurant, who were closing up, and they recommended Tamarindo. I had the Fajitas and a couple of Margaritas. The food was delicious and affordable. What added to my positive experience was our friendly waitress, Marisol. She ensured... More

We were recommended the Pupusas, that we found excellent, we also enjoyed the Tamarindo Margaritas. The atmosphere was very friendly and all the servers, specially Diego, were very nice and attentive. We will go back again!

Stopped her for lunch while running errands. I haven't eaten here in an age (restaurant has been around since the early eighties). Salsa and chips were OK. Service was very friendly and fairly attentive. Kudos to the hostess (Friday lunch). I ordered a sangria and it was quite good. I ordered the chicken mole and it was fair. I was... More

Had dinner at El Tamarindo and was rather disappointed. Service was friendly, but very slow. Steak dish I had was served nearly raw. Not much flavor in either dishes or sauces. Did have interesting array of cocktails, including the Oaxaca Mule that was quite good.

We were staying in DuPont and looking for somewhere local to eat. Past Reviews seemed OK. The staff were polite, however th chicken was over cooked and dry on the fajitas and the nachos had a very strange sauce which we wouldn't receive back home in the UK.

Stopped in for a quick bite before heading into Dupont area. Family got all four happy hour special appetizers...we were in and out in about 30 min. Excellent waitstaff and excellent food.

Owner Jose Reyes has modernized the restaurant, which has had a certain bodega charm since we've been regulars most Friday nights. He and his builders did a nice job, opening up the bar and installing bar seating, putting some 'high' tables with barstools for groups of 4-6, and freshening up the look for a younger, more demanding 21st Century crowd....
