Unassuming storefront, small mom and pop operation. Surprisingly consistent Chinese American food for take out or delivery. With how expensive delivery apps are getting with all the add-on fees, they only have a $12 delivery minimum and a $1 delivery fee. That’s pretty much unheard...of. Their spring rolls and dumplings usually come out fresh and hot. The classic chicken dishes are reliable, the Kung Pao has nice crunch and heat. Support a local, Asian American business.More

Meh...overpriced. ordered from the Omni Shoreham and was ready in 10 minutes...less than 10 considering it was ready when we arrived and we left shortly after ordered by phone. The "spring rolls" were no good imo. Beef w broccoli and moo shu pork were fine....Beef on a stick wasn't good either. Skip this even tho it's convenient and try something else.More

We've passed this tiny storefront often but assumed it was mainly for tourists, since it's close to Woodley Park's big hotels. And it offers takeout only, with just a couple of patio tables on the sidewalk outside. But since COVID19 arrived, that's all we get...anyway. So when we developed a craving for Chinese food this evening (not DC's usual Asian-fusion, which is usually more like Thai or Vietnamese), we decided to give it a try. Now we're just sorry it took us so long! We ordered Kung Pao Chicken, Eggplant with Ginger & Basil Sauce, and Pan Fried String Beans, and all were really good. Each dish was prepared in a different style, using different sauces and flavors, and the portions were large enough for two meals. In fact, we never got to the soup, which we're saving for all the leftovers tomorrow. Have to say it was quite a surprise -- it was actually the best Chinese food we've found in this neighborhood, and we plan to become regulars. Lesson is, don't ignore what may appear to be holes-in-the wall!More

they weren't busy, ordered three cup squid with side of rice and chicken and corn soup. It all lacked any seasoning, or taste. The squid was poorly prepared, bought in frozen and was large in size moreover the processor / supplier hadn't removed the film...that coats the flesh so it was held together by a membrane. The soup was reheated in a wok and as a result had an oily film of the surface which didn't do anything but mask any potential flavour. Very disappointing and even though it is across the road from my hotel it is not somewhere I will be rushing back to any time soon.More

Needed to find something quick during event at our hotel (Omni Shoreham) across the street. Read positive reviews online, so decided to give the place a try. On the positive side- called as I was walking over, and food was ready in under 10 minutes....Ordered Gen Tso chicken and two spring rolls. At best I’d say it was very average Chinese takeout food. In my opinion, didn’t measure up to other reviews, but perhaps caught them in a bad day. Only $13 total, and met my need for something quick, but wouldn’t hurry back. Nothing objectionable, just better options nearby.More

Mostly carry out with a few tables on sidewalk with umbrellas. Food variety is typical for Chinese. Broad selection and repeat...large portions. Prices likely typical for this area - a tad pricey. I had a shrimp and scallop rice dish with dumplings. A pop. Too...much food for one. And about $25.More

Conveniently located at a corner of Calvert and Connecticut, you find a simple Chinese place. There is no indoor tables except for 6-7 tables outside the patio. This place is busy with takeout orders due to their dinner specials that includes soup, spring rolls and...rice for under $12 or $14. Decent foods!More

Food is very good and reasonable priced. Delivery to our location was quickly done. The order was correct. Portions were good size. Varied menu, will definitely order from them again.

Craving Chinese food so decided to try Eddie's. We were skeptical because there is never a crowd out front. Well it was worth the try! They have a strong take out business and the food comes out very quickly. We enjoyed the steamed dumplings, fried...rice and lo mein noodles. It was hot, tasty and reasonably priced.More

I'm not sure why Eddie's gets such abysmal ratings on Yelp because I really liked the place. I recently stayed at the Omni Shoreham hotel, wanted Chinese food and didn't want to walk far or dine-in, so I went to Eddie's. I ordered the shrimp...lo mein, paid, and waited outside on the patio. Not even 5 minutes later my order was ready. The shrimp lo mein was some of the best I've had and only cost like $10.50. I will gladly visit Eddie's again if I return to the Woodley Park area.More

Seriously! The size of a big kitchen! Take out or you can sit outside. No inside tables. Good flavor but not the best chinese I've had. Good value. Cheapest meal in the area.

We discovered Eddie's via TripAdvisor and decided to try it out while we were staying at the Omni Shoreham. We were able to go on their website, review the entire menu, place an order for pickup online, and have our food back to our room...in probably 30 minutes total, the majority of the time being our own dithering about what to order off a menu where everything sounded delicious. One good tip we got from TripAdvisor was to MAKE SURE YOU GET UTENSILS if you are doing take-out. Fortunately the cashier offered to add forks and spoons to the bag, so I didn't have to remember to ask. There is outdoor seating, but inside is nothing but a cashier counter and the kitchen, so take-out is the way to go if you can. Service was quick and friendly, prices were a good value, and portions were generous. We got the Moo Goo Gai Pan, which was very good, and the Hunan Stuffed Chicken, which was spicy but not unbearable. We had leftovers for days. We will probably do Eddie's again if given the chance rather than going to Chipotle next door, which was a big disappointment. Hope this is helpful.More

I stopped here for take out on the way back to my hotel. I ordered the Moo Gu Gai Pan- which was piping hot and pretty tasty. And a lot less expensive than some of the crummy meals I paid a tone for that week.

We loved this little restaurant that's close to the Omni. Reasonably priced, nice staff, quick service, fresh food, and apparently loved by the Secret Service.
