Met some colleagues here for a dinner and although we had a nice time, there was nothing special about it. The cocktails were good and well priced (although it took them forever to bring the drinks - they brought our appetizers first!) I thought the appetizers were better than the mains. Spring rolls and dumplings were tasty. I had Pad... More

I've been eating at Bua since around 1998. Nearly ever time I visit DC, my husband and I end up there. The staff is attentive, and the food is tasty. I love the fresh tastiness of the pepper, basil, peanut, and coconut flavors of many of the dishes. Great Thai!

Bua is a charming Thai Restaurant near Dupont Circle. The staff is friendly and attentive, the restaurant is clean, and the prices are very reasonable, but the best reason to try Bua is for the food! My favorites include the Coco Bouillabaisse soup and any of their fresh salads. The same delightful people have owned Bua for 27 years. I... More

We were really very positive when we were told that dinner will be at our friend's favourite Thai restaurant near Embassy Row. There were nine of us and we all headed to Bua Thai. Initial impression was okay. The building and interior looks a bit tired. Still positive, i thought the food will be wonderful. We ordered and the food... More

My last visit to Bua Thai was 15 years ago and I remembered it as much better. In retrospect this might be attributable to changes in me rather than Bua Thai :-) My recent dinner was served by a pleasant, attentive waiter and it was nice to sit outside on a beautiful DC night, but the food was of average... I get take out from Bua Thai often. Their vegetables and other ingredients are always very fresh and their sauces light enough to allow the taste of the ingredients to shine. They are also very quick -- my order has always been ready before they said it would be. Portions are not huge, but I've always felt they offered good... More

I wandered around the hotel looking for a restaurant after feeling a bit ill. I was incredibly lucky to stumble on this place on P street, and went in. The atmosphere was cozy, and the waiter and other folks were very knowledgeable about options for gf food! The menu is extensive- so be prepared to make some difficult decisions. I... More
