We were greeted and seated quickly on a weekday afternoon without reservations and were so thankful! We sat next to the proposal booth and giggled each time someone came up to take pics. Not surprised that a reserved sign was on it before we left. Our waiter, Mike, was very knowledgeable about their wine selection and made a great suggestion... More

Martin's is a very famous restaurant, having served Presidents, and many Government officials, and Dignitaries! John F.Kenny proposed to Jacqueline at a booth in this love establishment! There are many other famous stories about this great friendly restaurant! The food is excellent, especially the Fried oysters! We loved this place so much, another reason I'm so happy my daughter is... More

We found Martin's after we bailed on a Ghost tour of Georgetown and it was awesome. First, the lemon martini I had was nearly perfect. The food we ordered was delicious. Our kids fell in love with Mike who greeted a very hot and tired family of five like they were his own. It was truly a night to remember.

We popped in here for a drink during our recent trip to the East coast of America and we loved it. The barman, Mike, I think, was friendly and informative and was a delight to talk to. He suggested the current cocktail for the ladies which was made from cucumbers and was delicious. We were asked if we wanted to... More

Walking through Georgetown on a hot summer day, we came upon Martin's. We went in, sat at the fantastic bar and had a couple. I could totally hang out at this place all day, but we had things to do. But the beer was cold (very important), service was great (equally important) and Martin's is located in just the right... More

Our lunch at Martin's Tavern was a good example of what makes Martin's a fixture for Washington diners: classic tavern fare, done right. We started with a crisp and delicious onion ring loaf, then went with a sirloin steak salad and (one of their brunch-all-day options) corned beef hash and poached eggs with toast. The steak was lean and well-seasoned,... More

Found this place with the Yelp app not knowing a thing about it. We were seated at the "Proposal Booth" where JFK proposed to Jackie. We ordered our food and read up on all the history of this place. It is really fascinating to learn of the political figures that dined here. I ordered the fish and chips and it... More

We sat in Nixon's booth in a place that had so much history it was incredible. JFK proposed to Jackie there. It was extremely charming. The shepard's pie was great as was the service and drinks. I would highly recommend it.
