We visitedGeorgetown and planned ahead to have dinner at this iconic place. It was worth the wait and the rain. The food was great, prices very reasonable. Planning to come back in December

We really enjoyed our brunch here. The eggs benedict with crab meat is worth trying. Pancakes and french toast were also very good. We sat outside under heaters which was great since the wait inside would have been 30 minutes. We were quite warm. Our server seemed overwhelmed and two items had incorrect sides. She was not as attentive as... More

Wife is a JFK fan, enough said. Food was good bar type food, not great. But the drinks and old school vibe was well worth the stop.

We wanted to eat at Martin's Tavern for the history. When we mentioned to our B & B hosts that we were going there, they wanted us to let them know how the food was. They said, "It's funny, but no one ever mentions the food." I think I know why. The tavern is charming. It's cozy and warm and... More

The history is the reason we decided to go here. JFK came here often. He and Jackie ate here often after they met. He proposed to her in booth 3. Several Presidents frequently ate here. The menu is extensive and the food and the service were very good.

Stumbled upon this great tavern while walking around Georgetown and was glad we chose to go in for dinner. Had a short wait as it was crowded and was sat at one of there booths. The atmosphere was very festive. They have an extensive beer list and found out the Tavern was famous in it's day for the presidents eating... More

This is where JFK proposed to Jackie O. The food was delicious and atmosphere inviting. Relaxed, quaint and family owned.

Stopped in for and afternoon martini and snacks so we could keep going. They were helpful, noted that they would need the table in an hour for reservations, I appreciate that they were upfront about it and let us opt for the bar. Strong traditional drinks, go with your standards here. The food was a bit overpriced for what it... More

As part of our trip to Washington we visited Georgetown, which was our favourite area of the city. Beautiful streets, canal walks and the beautiful waterfront. During the trip we had lunch at Martins and it was very nice with friendly and efficient staff. All the food was reasonably priced and the sandwiches were particularly good.

Had the best eggs benedict with filet mignon. Can't wait to come back. Wife had great grilled chick sandwich. Great service and friendly manager helping fill the breach. Historic bar/ pub. classic bar scene (as in pull up chair to bar and read the paper with your bloody mary or scotch for that matter) and wood paneled booths.

Thank james h

At Martin's Tavern, every sitting president from Truman to G.W. Bush has dined. Ask your server to point out the booth where JFK proposed to Jackie.
