We spent five days in Washington DC and loved the city. On our last night had a special dinner at Bistro Bis.Probably a little more than a bistro down the Capitol end of town.Ambience ok and the food was exceptional. The escargot fricassee were really a pleasure and the steak cooked to perfection. The octopus starter and scallops were also... More

We stayed in a nearby nice hotel with unsuitable dining, and went late for a dinner. We were pleasantly surprised at the very good food, presentation, and total experience for our late dinner. We decided that we had to come the next night, after an earlier cocktail hour meal at a University, to have a nice experience at the end... More

We had an excellent dinner at Bistro Bis, adjacent to The George Hotel. One of the appetizer specials was foie gras torchon with a nut brittle, which was delicious. My girlfriend wanted to order an entree special of snapper, but they were out of it. But, our server found that they could include the sides, along with cod from the... More

the service and food were great, though there was not a huge selection on breakfast menu. No complaints as I drank mimosas. If youre hoping to run into members of Congress, try breakfast here on a weekday. It's a quick walk from the Capitol.

This is a lovely French restaurant in the George hotel which is very popular with the business crowd and open to non residents. The food is delicious and the service attentive.

I am in D.C. for one night on a business trip and wanted to catch up with a dear, old friend, who is also a foodie. First, this restaurant is adjacent to a Kimpton Hotel and I've never had a bad meal at a Kimpton. My friend had fresh snapper and I had the sweetbreads. My sweetbreads were perfectly prepared... Wonderful food and service. Each dish had a twist from the conventional versions. Seared foie gras served w chutney & a schmear of liver, seared scallops w black rice, a schmear of sweet potato & cranberry coulis. But my favorite thing was dessert. I laughed reading what looked like a play on peanut butter & jelly. "Grape Verrine:" Could it... More

I love this restaurant! The chef combines unusual flavors in the tastiest of ways. My trout had actual little slices of lemon to accompany the capers and sauce and thin, crispy fried prosciutto...yum! Even their complimentary cheese bread is delicious.

Sat at the bar for a quick lunch. Prompt service, nice selections of dishes and wines by the glass. helpful waitstaff. Food was delicious. At least a quarter of business was DC locals. Probably would need a reservation for dinner.

I had lunch here with my sister and brother in law. The restaurant is around the corner from the Washington Court Hotel, and near the Hyatt Capitol Hill and Union Station. The food is French, and very good (I had escargot and crab cakes, both superb), the atmosphere is stylish, though the place has nothing but hard surfaces so it's... More
