At first I was a little annoyed that the hostess was too busy with her friends to acknowledge my presence. Then the other host seated the couple that came in after me first. However once I was finally seated the rest of the dinner was terrific.

You get what you pay for, the saying goes, and that is true at Bistro Bis. Our party of three enjoyed breakfast there, and we all agreed that it was the very best food; however, be ready to pay for it. A lovely dining room offering great food -- this is a good find!

We were fortunate to be in the area during Restaurant Week. Thus, we had the chance to have an excellent three-course menu at a set price. The watermelon soup, salmon, and creme brulee were very good. My daughter had trout from the regular menu prepared gluten-free for her. She loved it. The hostess and server provided great customer service.

The maitre d was not pleasant! What a surprise. The waiter made up for her short comings. The waiter we had made every dish sound like the best thing you will ever eat. Bravo he was impressive just eating him made me more hungry. The food was very good and I would have given 5 stars if it was not... More

Enjoyed a very relaxed dinner with friends. Good menu selections and great wine list, although a bit higher on the markup. Our party ordered the snapper argenteuil, sweetbreads, trout l'ardenaise, and magret de canard (mine). No complaints and clean plates all around. Samples a little off everyone's plate and all was tasty. Wonderful desert menu. Special recognition to our server... More

This is a reliably good restaurant and great for business meals. Service is attentive without being overbearing, and is the best part of the restaurant. Our group all liked the choices they made, and desserts were particularly good.

This is a great bistro --steps from Union Station which is a great convenience for those of us taking the late train. The food is always good and the service gracious. Excellent wine list.

Stumbled upon Bistro Bis when looking for a nice place for a quick drink in between trains from Pittsburgh to NYC. The bar is very nice, and had a few glasses of champagne on our first visit. Stopped by on our next trip to DC and dined on the sidewalk, menu was nice, and had the same great champagne again.... More

I went to Bistro Bis as my last venue to visit during an 8-day stay in DC. I should have made it my first so I could have gone back more. The food is exquisite, I recommend the quenelles on the appetizer menu. They are absolutely heavenly. I then ordered boeuf bourguignon, a classic french dinner accompanied by a nice... More
