It took us 3 days to try and get a table at a decent time in the evening because everytime we turned up, it was so packed! It is such a testament to how popular a joint this is and how goooood the food and drinks are particularly!!! We finally got a table here one evening and thoroughly enjoyed the... More

My best friend and I came here and we're inmediately impressed with Tito at the bar. They had great suggestions for dinner which we actually took full advantage of. I highly recommend the brussels sprouts seasonal mushrooms and the pita bread is out of this world. We also had the lamb with eggplant purée--UNREAL, and the octopus. All of the... More

Zaytinya is one of those urban miracles--thank you Jose Andres and your team. When I think of what was in the area when I lived in DC in the mid 1990s...I've eaten here a number of times over the last four or five years. Mostly in the lofty contemporary dining room with my husband or friends--a great space. On this... More

Seated quickly mid-week at 7PM when the SAAM closes! The two of us shared about 4 plates that was more than enough. Brought back memories of Turkey but with updated flavors. Favorites: Beet Salad, Ottoman Pilaf, Lamb Bahar. Mushroom Pide is simple but nice (like flatbread pizza). Service is fast and friendly. Social atmosphere but not too loud in the... More

Great food and service !! Make a reservation, usually is full !! My sad point was: they don't have kids menu, so the food for them isn't easy.

My daughter and I had dinner at Zaytinya in Nov. 2016. I had wanted to try one of Jose Andres restaurants. We weren't disappointed. The restaurant is big! Seats over 200 people. And it was packed the night we were there which was a Saturday. We had reservations, but had to wait a bit to be seated. Once we were... More

Always our favorite. Love the baba ghannouge and tzatziki to start. Then move on to the soujouk pide (like a flatbread), seared halloumi (don't tell my cardiologist) and fattoush (greek salad with fresh veggies). Next up, garides me anitho (shrimp with dill), shish taouk (grilled chicken skewers), kibbeh (beef and bulgar wheat fritters), and adana kebab (lamb grilled with tomatoes).... More

Visited Zaytinya on a busy Thursday, as a group of three and ordered 9-10 small plates and a great bottle of Greek wine. The Shellfish Quwarmah, Octopus Santorini, and Tatziki were all particular favorites, with the delicate seafood flavor really shining forth in the broth of the Quwarmah. We also thoroughly enjoyed the golden-roasted seasonal mushrooms, dotted with the sweetness... More
